You were adorable, the way you clung to James as the two of you took your daily walk always amused him.
You were so dependant on him.
"Your quite the clingy mouse y/n." James teased while giving you one of his famous smiles.
You peek up at him from under your hat and smile back "I can't help it, I want to be by your side forever." You say softly and hold on tighter to his arm.
James hummed in response.
"Have you thought about marriage?" You asked hesitantly.
James looked at you with a soft expression "My dear, don't you think it's a little early to be thinking such things? We've only been courting for 3 months."
You nod "Of course, I shouldn't have asked."
You felt childish now, acting like a love sick little girl.
James didn't mind of course, he simply thought it was cute.
The two of you walk in silence for a moment before entering your home.
James admired how neat and tidy it was inside, you were always keeping things perfect for him.
Such a sweet little thing.
James set his hat on one of the many pegs by your front door and seated himself on a plush chair.
You look at him, with a slightly dejected look.
You couldn't help but feel a little hurt by the way he tossed aside your marriage question.
James noticed your expression and tilted his head slightly "What's with the pout my love?" He asked while patting his lap, a signal for you to come.
You make yourself comfortable in his lap before hugging his neck.
"I feel like you don't take me seriously."
You hide your face in the crook of the blonde mans neck, embarrassed.
James rubbed your back in a gentle motion that he knew soothed you.
"Of course I do darling, I would never take your words lightly." He cooed gently.
You kept your face hidden and held onto him a little tighter, your bodies pressed close to each other.
"Then why brush off my words of marriage-"
"Y/n."
You stop and lift your head up so you were looking into his pretty blue eyes, you could tell he was annoyed by the clench in his jaw.
"What is it?"
James sighed, "Marriage is something that shouldn't be tossed around lightly, of course I want to marry you y/n. But I want time, to see if it's what we both really want."
Your play with the collar of his suit before responding.
"Of course it's something I want."
James locked his hand around yours to stop you from fiddling.
"I know."
You stare at each other, locked in a slightly agitated battle.
Of course you knew what he was saying made sense, he wanted time to get to know you better, while you, like a fool, wanted to rush into everything.
James let go of your hand but brought your ring finger to his lips and kissed it with a soft smile.
"I mean it when I say I want to put a ring on your finger, just hold on a little while for me okay?"
You watch him with a small smile and nod "Alright."
James kicks his feet up on the footstool so his legs could stretch out comfortably while lowering his hands to your waist.
The two of you, with your arms entwined around each other sat in a comfortable silence.
There was nothing more peaceful than two lovers enjoying each others company.
James ran his hand through your hair lovingly before smiling.
"Y/n, I love you."
You lift your head to look at him and smile back.
"I love you too, James Bond."
