To say you were disappointed would be a lie. You were downright upset.

Why hadn't he called yet? Or said anything before he left??

The fleeting thought of William having another lover whom he was spending Valentine's Day with crossed your mind.

You quickly shook it off while taking a sip of the fine wine that would have Albert drooling, maybe he was held back at the university. After all grading students papers did take quite awhile.

You looked at the clock, 5:00. Dinner time.

You looked at the meal you had spread out, a relish spread of turkey and fluffy mashed potatoes that looked like clouds were placed on both plates, an assortment of vegetables added colour to the meal to top it off.

You were proud of your work, and you hoped William would appreciate it too. If he ever decided to come home today that is.

You sigh glumly, you were sure plenty of other lovers were sharing chocolates and cuddled up on a couch while whispering sweet nothings to each other right now.

This was just unfair.

Had he forgotten? William never really acted like he cared about holidays in general, so maybe that meant Valentine's Day was no different.

At that moment you heard the door open and shut, and there he was, William took off his top hat and have you a smile.

"Hello my love, something smells good. Dinner?" He asked tilting his head a bit.

You look at him and felt your heart flutter a bit "Yes Liam, I made it special just for you." You said softly.

William smiled and sat down "Whatever for darling?" He asked while spreading a napkin over his lap as he prepared to eat.

He had forgotten.

You looked down while biting your lip a bit, "I felt like it." You mumble.

William noticed the sad note in your voice and tried not to reveal his true thoughts.

He had in fact not forgotten at all.

He wanted to surprise you.

Dinner was uncomfortable and quiet, thinking he wasn't interested in the day for couples made you feel a little silly for being so worked up.

Your cheeks were red from trying to hold in emotions, a face William was familiar with. It was then that he decided to stop teasing you.

"Alright, would you mind coming with me love? I want to ask your opinion about something." He murmured while holding a hand out for you to take.

You hesitated but held his hand anyway, you could never tell this man no.

He led you out to the gardens where the flowers were pruned back, your favourite flowers were littered across the stone wall way.

"William..? What is this?" You asked while looking up at him, feeling a small smile grace your features.

The blonde man just shrugged and gave you a little smile in response before stopping at a hanging swing that was tied between two willow trees.

The entire chair was made from sturdy wood, a pretty purple cushion covered the bottom and those favourite flowers of yours were entwined in the wood.

"I know it's not something extraordinary but I thought you would like it." He said softly while his cheeks turned pink.

You gasped softly and sat down on it while squishing the cushion and smiled "Oh William it's perfect! It has the most splendid view of the gardens." You gushed excitedly.

Relieved by your happiness William sat down beside you and held you close to him "Your the splendid view here." He purred happily.

You blush in response and leaned into him.

"Oh William."

He chuckled and just pressed a kiss to your temple.

"Happy Valentine's Day my love."
