👘📸Soapies - Confession

MAHIRU'S POV:

I was sat backstage at my best friend Hiyoko's dance performance waiting for it to end so I could hangout with her. She really did deserve her title as the ultimate traditional dancer, every movement she made was mesmerising.

The thing is Hiyoko isn't just my best friend she is also my crush, so I like to spend every moment I can with her. I've been wanting to confess for a while but I could never seem to find the right moment.

"Hey Mahiru!"
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by someone running up to me and shouting my name.
"Oh hi Hiyoko, you're performance was great!" I said with a smile. The shorter girl blushed slightly at the compliment but quickly went back to her normal self.
"There's a new candy store that just opened up the street do you wanna go there with me?" Hiyoko asked.
"Sure." I replied.

We got to the candy store Hiyoko bought some of her favourite gummies and I got a bar of chocolate.

"Hmm..."
"What's wrong Hiyoko?" I asked confused.
"I don't feel like going home yet... I know! You've got your camera with you right?"
"Uh yeah, why?" I questioned.
"Then we can go and take some pictures in the field near the lake!"
"Oh that sounds great" I replied.

This will actually be really useful for me because I've been wanting to photograph some flowers for a while and there's a lot in that field.

"Let's get going then." Hiyoko said.

HIYOKO'S POV:

I grabbed Mahiru's hand and started to run down the street. As we jogged around the corner, I suddenly ran into someone and fell back on the floor.

"Watch where you're going, you skanky pig!" I said clearly annoyed.
"Hey I could say the same to you!"

I looked across from me to see a girl with long purple hair and circluler glasses. Wow she really was ugly. (Poor Toko)

"Hey can you tell your girlfriend not to be so rude!" another girl said to Mahiru. She had short green hair and ahoge.
Mahiru started blushing intensely. "She's not my girlfriend.." she said.
"Well friend than!," The girl said annoyed. "Come on Toko."

The purple haired girl gave me a dirty look as she walked away with the green haired girl. I scowled at her as they disappeared around the corner.

I looked back to see Mahiru kneeling down holding out her hand to me. "Are you ok?" She asked concerned.

Her face was so close to mine I could feel myself starting to blush.

Wait what?! Why was I blushing? Me and Mahiru are just friends, right? Yeah just friends.

"Err yeah." I said and hesitantly took her hand.

MAHIRU'S POV:

Eventually we arrived at the field Hiyoko was talking about earlier.

"We're here!" She said as she sat down on the grass.
"Yep." I said and sat down next to her.

We sat in silence for about two minutes while Hiyoko ate the gummies she bought from the candy store.

Suddenly she got up and stood in front of me.
"Hey Mahiru! You wanted to take some photos right?"
"Err yeah"
"Well how about you take some of me, if you want to of course." She asked.
"Ok, I was gonna take some of the flowers but I think you're much more beautiful." I replied without thinking.

Oh my god, I really said that out loud.

We were both blushing like mad. Instead of acknowledging that last remark of mine, I just stood up and took out my camera.

"Smile!"

Time Skip»

Me and Hiyoko were looking through the photos we had took and giggling. It was pretty dark at that point so we were getting up to go home.

We had a great time that night and I felt like I was finally ready to tell her about my feelings.

"Um Hiyoko, there's something I've been wanting to say to you for a while." I stuttered a little, worried that she wouldn't feel the same way.

"Huh, ok? What is it." She asked.

No turning back now Mahiru.

"Well the truth is I like you a lot, as like more than a friend."

"Wha-what? You like me?" Her face was bright red as she spoke.

"Yeah, I was wondering if you'd wanna go out with me?" I said hopefully.

"Ok sure. I like you too by the way." She said still blushing.

Then she scooted closer and wrapped her arms around me. I returned the hug and heard her mutter something quietly.

"I love you Mahiru."
