By the end of gym class, Chloe saw Vicky came out from the shower, she took a peek at the exchange student. She knew it was impolite, but she couldn't help it.
"What do you do after school?" Vicky asked.
"Nothing." Chloe turned away shyly, cursing Paige for planted the idea in her head. Quickly changing the subject she asked. "Where did you go yesterday? I saw someone picked you up."
"Yes, that would be my guardian, Meneer Boogman." Vicky nodded. "He is taking care of me here."
"Meneer?"
"That's Mr. Boogman, he's Dutch."
"Oh."
She went on explaining that Mr. Boogman has been their family butler for as long as she could remember, and was assigned to be her guardian during her stay in the State.
They walked out the school, everyone was carrying out their own plans, some goes home, some goes out with friends. Chloe and Vicky stood by the gate.
"What kind of business does your family run? If you don't mind me asking."
"They are in the mining business. They hold the largest metallic minerals in Europe."
"Wouldn't that made you..."
"The heiress of Moresnet. Yes." Vicky admitted. "But I prefer not to use that title."
"You don't seem to be proud of it."
"Not when you were born with it." the young heiress answered sadly.
Just like that, Chloe found herself standing next to a royal princess, she was no different from any ordinary girl. Having been living in a reality show, Chloe understood how being in the center of attention may affect one's life.
"Come!" Chloe took her hand. "I'll show you my friends!"
"But my chauffeur isn't here!"
"Forget that! Today you're taking the bus!"
Vicky was fascinated being on a crowded bus, full of children getting out of school, and to the places they gathered. Seeing the young princess free from her restriction, it was like looking into a mirror, reminded her of the overly protective lifestyle she once had.
Chloe took her to the mall, ordered two desserts from her favorite ice-cream parlor.
"This is so nice!" Vicky had a taste. "I wish I can live like this every day!"
"You're now practically a runway princess!" Chloe smiled, watching the young princess enjoying ice-cream like a child.
"If that could be true, the first thing I'll do is run away from my wedding!" Vicky said.
"You're getting married? Aren't you still a little young for that?" Chloe blinked.
"It was pre-arranged by my parents. We all do in our family."
"But how do you even know if you love someone? We've barely seen the world."
"Marriage isn't about love in my family. It's about maintaining power. My parents had only seen each other for little over a year in total, the wedding plan took longer than that!"
Vicky continued enjoying her ice-cream, until Chloe asked.
"Vicky, who else is with you here besides Mr. Boogman?"
"He hired two local staffs, Jimmy as my chauffeur and Mrs. Kilmer as my house keeper."
"They don't happened to be six foot tall, two hundred and forty pound would they?"
