The next morning Chloe invited Kalani home for breakfast. The girl was uncomfortable as usual, but managed through the meal in a decent manner.

Kalani drove Chloe to school, before Chloe step out the car, Kalani said.

"Look. I'm sorry what I said." she looked uneasy, apparently not use to make apologies. "It's just that we've grown up watching your world from TV and movies. Our school receive donations of clothes and money from your people. Sometimes we felt that you were throwing loose change at us just so you can feel superior."

"I'm sorry you think that." Chloe smiled gently. "It's true that some people do it for the publicity, but many still do it for good course."

"So I guess I don't have to return the sleeping bag, eh?" Kalani smiled for the first time.

"Oh, sleeping bag you can keep!" Chloe nodded. "But you still own my mom five dollars for that pancake you ate!"

"Get out of my car!" Kalani laughed.

Chloe waved the old beat-up Toyota away, followed by a silver Mercedes pulling up. The young driver got out, walked around the car and opened the door for Vicky. Chloe quickly pulled her aside and spoke quietly.

"I have to tell you something, but you must promise not to get upset."

"Chloe, the fact that you're telling me this is going to upset me, so I cannot promise anything."

"Okay." Chloe took a deep breath. "I think your fiancé is seeing someone."

"Abriana?"

"What? Did you know this?" Chloe's eyes widened.

"Everyone knows. They have been seeing each other for years." Vicky said in a manner that she was surprise Chloe didn't know.

"And this doesn't bother you?"

"It's an arranged marriage. Neither of us have any say on this. It's a non-written tradition."

"To marry someone who doesn't love you?"

"This is our life, Chloe. Unless there's a royal member rejecting the marriage, it is as fixed as a done deal."

"And all royals agree with this?"

"If my father said so, so does everyone else." the young princess shrugged casually.

The King rules, even over his family. Chloe thought. Suddenly all her childhood dreams of becoming a princess didn't seem that wonderful after all.

"Of course, there is another possibility of your attack." Chloe tried to move on, couldn't bear to think of this absurd tradition. She told Vicky what she heard from JoJo, explained the threat from the competitor.

"This I'm not sure. My parents never talk to me about their business. They said I'll know when I grow older."

"How typical!" Chloe bit her lips, sharing the same feeling, admiring how JoJo and her father could discuss things openly.

"Oh, I want to give you this!"

Vicky reached into her purse and pulled out an envelope. It was milky white with golden edges, at the front was an embossed gold seal.

"What's this?" Chloe looking at the big H, which does look like a helicopter pad.

"I know we haven't been together for long, but I treasure our time together." the young princess smiled.

Chloe opened the envelope and took out the card, it was written in two different languages, in English it was a wedding invitation, underneath printed:

Chloe Lukasiak plus one

"Vicky..." Chloe lost in words, couldn't believe she just got invited to a royal wedding.

"Sorry I couldn't get more for you, the guest list is quite full." Vicky frowned. "You don't seem so happy."

"No... I mean, yes! I'm happy for you." Chloe collected her words. "I just couldn't stop thinking that you're marrying someone..."

"Please don't think that. In the past two weeks you have shared your world and friends with me, I have experienced the most wonderful time of my life, and that's enough for me to settle down for my marriage."

"It wasn't that much..." Chloe lowered her eyes, wishing she could offer more. "When will you go back?"

"Tomorrow, then I'll see you at the wedding in two weeks."

Seeing her friend sad, Vicky took Chloe's hand.

"Come on! Let's skip school one more time! I don't get to do that back home!"
