Chapter 8

Ghad, though the training has ended. The freaking exam week is here and I have to review and study hard. Good thing this guy over here didn't give me a hard time helping him with his study. I'll surely kick his ass if he does even I love damn much.

"Kane, Do you want anything? I'll buy our food for later." Tum asked me while looking at me while holding his wallet.

"Nothing. Just be back right away." I told him without looking at his eyes because it's too distracting.

He left when I answered his question.

After the off-site training, I decided to stay in his apartment for a while since he might get a nightmare within this week or next week. It happens a lot but not all the time. Just this time is a crucial one since it's his dad's death month, the month when his father died.

My phone rings and I answered it right away.

"Dad."

"Are you sure about staying there? You can always follow us here."

"Umm. I am sure. Dad. I won't change my mind."

"If you say so."

Dad is worried about me being left alone here but not alone. Kade is here but he's too busy with his own life. He rarely visits. He even calls or texts me tons of times just to make me stay over at his place since he can't visit me at school.

After the training, I go home with Tum to their apartment on campus. It's a two-person apartment. His roommate is one of my security agents, Oak he studies marine biology.
He was surprised at first to see me entered the room with Tum.

"Hey, are you with me or what?" I bark at Tum who seems to be sleepy.

"Don't doze off while I'm helping you to study." And I smack his head.

"Ow!" He whines

"Take a walk outside, buy us some snacks," I order him.

"Why me?" He asks "who's tutoring you now?" I ask him with that he scratches his head and gets his wallet and phone before going out.

"Now, I know why our great master told me to be that guy's roommate," Oak said as he saw that Tum already went outside to buy us some snacks.

"is he the consort?" He asks

I just smile at him. He shook his head with a smile and tend the fishes that are in his aquarium.

"What do you think?" I ask him.

He thinks for a few minutes. "He's not bad. He's kind and all. Just stubborn one and can be immature."

I just shrugged since he got it all correct.

Not long enough. Tum got back with our snacks and we start the study session.

Oak and Tum are already sleeping soundly. I replace myself with a pillow since Tum is hugging me in his sleep.

I have to check on the VIP.

I wore all black attire and wear a mask. I drove down to where the VIP is located at.

He's alone while doing some arts in a room. I don't know but I felt pity for what happened to him that turned him into this. I tried my best to take a snoop on his works and there all beautiful and amazing.

Doing some art can make him feel good anyway. He unexpectedly cries in front of his canvas. I wanna go there and comfort him but I can't. I have to stay hidden just in case something happens.

"Hey, I already know you're there." He utter in a broken voice.

Who is he talking to? No one is with him.

I have an exam today but I have to spend the night here up in this tree. And later I'll switch with the assigned guard and have to go to my unit to change my attire and hide the mask. Oak might know who am I but Tum? He doesn't have to.

---------------Meanwhile------

A sleeping guy felt the cold and woke up a bit to look at his best friend but it turns out that his best friend who was supposed to be hug by him is now a pillow.

"He's gone again. No time for again?"

He decided to just sleep his sadness away instead.
