Slowly I came into consciousness, a headache throbbing; causing everything to hurt. I tried to sit up and it was a very bad idea as I cried out in pain. My ribs felt as though they were on fire, again, as I felt bones grind together. I had the biggest feeling of deja vu.
"Stupid! Stay down." Oh yes, deja vu it is.
"Call me stupid again and I'll show you why I got these injuries, Nixtopher." I growled at him. I heard a surprised yelp and quick shuffling of a body coming nearer to me.
"And give me some more shit and I swear the next time I wake up you wont ever again." I continued in a dangerous voice, rubbing my sleep heavy eyes.
All movement stopped, from what I heard, and then a familiar voice spoke out to me.
"Storm?" Chris' hesitant voice rung in my ears. My eyes snapped open and I looked around the room immediately for her.
The first thing I noticed was that I was now in a room that resembled more a hospital than Nix's lab. The next thing was that I was surrounded by alot more people than what I was when I had woken the first time. But I finally spotted Christina sitting next to my bed, one hand gently resting on mine, that had not moved from it's position from my side on the bed, and the other held to her chest uncertainly.
I cursed myself for using my other tone, knowing Chris most likely had never heard anything like it and I softened my gaze and tone.
"Hey, Chris." I gave her a warm smile. She returned it in full and lunged at me for a hug. I returned the gesture with a wince of pain, but I didn't want to make her feel bad so I didn't say anything.
"Oh my god, Storm I was so worried about you! What happened? I heard you got jumped and that the guys that did it got hurt and they were in a gang and..." she trailed off.
I glanced around the room and saw that my mother and dad were also in the room, but it seems they just walked in. Gale, Nix, Reed, and Billy were also there along with Chris' parents, Mark and Julia who were standing with my parents. Two other boys stood in the corner of the room, I only recognized them because they hung out and talked with Billy, Reed and Gale at times.
I eyed them suspiciously for a few moments. They stared back. They were both bulky, so I assumed they were on at least some of the school sports team. One had short black cropped hair, while the other had wavy dirty blonde hair. I gave their hulking forms another once over accessing their strength and scoffed.
Turning my attention away from the two that now seemed highly insulted and Gale that now seemed amused.
"Um yeah Chris. So guys thought that I was trying to start something, and they wanted my wallet and anything I had on me. And you know me, I didn't give 'em crap so they started wailing on me. I just got lucky that some other guys saw and decided to help me out." I lied perfectly.
"Are you sure that's what happened sweet heart? Gale said-" My mother started but I cut her off.
"Gale wasn't there mom. And this was technically his fault." I bit out harshly. Everyone in the room winced at my tone as I sighed out. I was irritated and my muscles were stiff.
"How long was I out this time?" I gave a pointed gaze to Nix.
"About three days," He answered as I stood from the bed. I stretched my body out causing a hiss of pain, only I heard, to leave me from my broken ribs. I settled back down and place a hand on the side of my chest.
"Come on mom, dad, let's get back home. The rest of you guys are welcome too." I said looking a Chris and her parents Billy and Reed. Purposely excluding Gale, Nix and flat out ignoring the other two in the room.
