Chapter 10: Almost There

Chloe pov.

I woke up the next day with someone sitting on my stomach, and a hand over my mouth.

"Don't move." A guy said quietly. I could smell two other guys in the room and could tell they were from the rival pack. I could hear Matt breathing steadily. 'Matt must still be asleep.' I thought to my self then started to struggle, trying to get away from whoever was holding me down.

"I said don't move!" He growled a little but made sure to stay quiet. I tried to hit him but he and one of the other guys, grabbed my wrists and held them down.

I kept struggling bit after awhile I still couldn't get free so I did the only thing I could think of. I bit him, hard. He cursed and moved is hand away.

"MATT!" I yelled before I was slapped hard across the face.

"What?..." he said in a groggy voice then I heard him jump out of bed and try to get the guy off of me. The one on my stomach got off next but the other one picked me up and held onto my arms so I couldn't move them. I could hear them fighting and I tried to get away from the one holding me. I could hear Matt start to grown and could hear his bones snap and break as he changed into his wolf form.

After about a minute of me struggling I started to growl too.  All of a sudden the guy dropped me and I could hear them running from the room. I heard Matt changing back into his human form then I felt him hug me. I hugged him back burying my face into his neck.

"Thank you." I whisper and he hugs me a little tighter. He pulls away a little and his hand touches the cheek that one of the guys slapped.

"Chloe... I won't let anyone hurt you." He says softly and I smile a little. I kiss his cheek and hug him tightly. "Come on, let's get out of here." he says and I nod. I change into the white shirt with the rose on it and a pair of jeans. Matt puts his clothes on and I grab the bag the rest of my clothes are in. Matt takes my hand and we walk out of the room. We walk to the front desk and Matt checks us out.

We walk out of the hotel and down the street. After awhile my stomach starts to growl. Matt squeezes my hand and after a couple minutes he leads me inside a building.

"where are we?" I ask and I could smell food cooking and people talking.

"ihop." he says and I smile. A lady takes us to a table and hands us our menus. She asks what we want to drink and I get a glass of milk and Matt gets orange juice. Matt reads the menu to me and after a couple minutes our waitress comes back and takes our orders. I get two buttermilk pancakes and Matt gets eggs and bacon.

There was an awkward silence between us for awhile as we waited for our food. I realize that I barely know anything about him. 

"Tell me about yourself." I say smiling a little.

"What do you want to know?" he asks. I didn't really have anything specific I wanted to know.

"Anything." I say.

"ok well, I lived with my old pack my whole life and my dad was their beta. My mom was killed when I was still a baby and honestly, everyone in that pack was a jerk to me." he said and I grab his hand squeezing it gently. The waitress comes back with our food and we both start to eat.

"So what about you?" Matt asks.

I think for a second before answering. "I had a pretty normal childhood, for a werewolf that is, but since I'm the daughter of the alpha I felt like people were just being nice to me because they had too. When I lost my sight and my mom died I felt like they were being nice out if pity." I sighed. "They also treated me as I couldn't do anything by myself." I said then we both were silent for awhile.

We both finished eating and Matt paid. He gently grabbed my hand and we walked out if the ihop. Matt squeezes my hand gently and we walk down the street.

"We're really close. We mite get to Crystal's by tomorrow." Matt says and I smile.

'I can't wait to get my eyesight back!'
