December 27th
OmniscientSwallowing down hard, Cassia sat on the edge of her bed, her focus glued to the ground while her feet swung back and forth slowly. Finally getting a chance to sit with herself without having to worry about Crystal or anyone else, since Cepheus was occupying all of her attention in the living room.
Standing to her feet, she pulled down her shorts a little bit before making her way out of her room. Although she was enjoying the alone time, she needed to talk to him. Everything weighing on her shoulders making her feel suffocated.
"Crystal, can I talk to your daddy really quick?" Cassia spoke up, her arms crossed as both Crystal and Cepheus looked up at her.
"But me and daddy were building a castle." She whined, poking out her bottom lip.
"Okay that's fine...come to my room after." She spoke to Cepheus who simply nodded, before placing his attention back on Crystal. Leaving Cassia to go back to her room which she did, calmly sitting back down on her bed where she once was.
"Wassup" He mumbled, finally entering the room after a little over an hour passed by. Raising her head to look up in his direction, Cassia quickly grabbed a tissue from off of her nightstand to wipe her face. Not even realizing she was crying once again, something that she always seemed to do while in his presence these days.
"Are you sober? Like completely sober? No cocaine, alcohol, or any other drugs in your system?" She spoke quietly, watching as Cepheus took a seat in the chair that rested in the corner of the room. Making sure to close the door shut so that Crystal didn't come in.
"Yes I'm sober, I ain't bring nothing with me." Nodding her head, Cassia shifted on her bed with her hands in her lap. Although she told him she wasn't coming back, she did feel that it would be best to talk. Since a lot happened and a lot was revealed in just a matter of a couple days,
"Okay...um, well- I don't even know where to start. You have another child, by a woman who you treated I'm assuming a lot worse than what you've been showing me as of lately. I don't have an issue with you fathering a baby that was conceived before me that you didn't even know about, however that's not really something I can just look past which I hope you understand and-."
"Crystal ain't your child and you looked past that, so no I'm not understanding." Blowing out a sharp breath, Cassia planted her palms behind her on the bed while staring at him.
"No, but I treat her like a daughter already so-."
"But she's not your daughter."
"You're absolutely right, she's yours. Although over the course of a couple weeks, she's told me many times that she wishes I was her real mommy and she would never have to see you again. Simply because her father was a lot more focused on going out and entertaining other women, than his own child at home. Meanwhile I was with that little girl each and every night, tucking her in, reading her her bedtime story, giving her her kiss goodnight...all the things her father should've been doing. I don't want Crystal to be my birth daughter, I would much rather show her that regardless of her mother being absolutely nothing, and her father doing Lord knows what, there was still somebody who genuinely loved her and cared about her when they didn't have to. That person being me." She finished up, tilting her head as she stared at him.
