Sleep did not come easily to Eve that night. Her mind was spinning around what had happend between her and Severus. It was hard for her to contain herself around him, and she began to stress. The following morning would be a staff meeting. As long as I can keep my cool, all will be fine She thought to herself as his image passed through her mind over and over again.
It was now morning, sleep never did come to her and she felt absolutely exhausted. In order to compose herself, Eve decided to take a hot shower in Hope's to jar her awake. Once she was ready for the day, she headed off to the staff room.
She was instantly greeted by Headmistress Mcgonagall.
"Hello Evangeline. How lovely to see you this morning. I haven't seen you around much, how are you doing? Enjoying teaching?" Minerva said with the upmost delightful spirit.
"Oh yes, I'm loving it. Just a bit tired but I suppose everyone is." Eve replied to her, quickly dismissing herself to find the coffee.
Once she found it, she poured a big glass and gulped it all down before refilling it and taking a seat. Shortly after Severus walked into the room. His eyes instantly met hers and a small smile formed on his lips. She returned the smile before looking down at her legs to hide the blush appearing on her face. When she looked back up she realized Severus had sat right beside her.
"Goodmorning Evangeline. How did you sleep?" Severus said calmly. Surprisingly he wasn't trying to tease her or anything. He was being genuinely sincere.
"Morning Severus. To be honest, I didn't sleep well at all. I've been rather stressed with papers and such." Eve replied honestly. Severus seemed to look at her worryingly.
"Terribly sorry to hear that. I have some sleeping potions in stock if you would like? I to have difficulty sleeping now and then. For that reason, I make sure to have it well stocked." Severus said, flicking his fingers to levitate the coffee pot to him. Filling his glass, then mine.
"Thank you. Actually, that would be amazing. It would definitely help." She said before happily accepting the coffee and taking a sip.
Then some more people pooled in. Some others being Professors. Then to her dismay, board members. The last one to enter caught her eye immediately and anger filled her veins.
Lucius fucking malfoy.
Evangeline absolutely loathed Lucius. When she was a student he was extremely disrespectful to her and her friends whenever him and his father would viset. He was still rather young aswell so she cocked it up to be his 27 year old entitled attitude. She didn't even know him on a personal level, she just hated him. She always hated the way he walked around as if he owned the place. His head tilted to exert Dominance. She pitied his wife for marrying someone as self centered as him.
Eve quickly looked down to not give away her annoyance from his presence. Severus seemed to have noticed and leaned down to her, placing a hand over hers to squeeze it reassuringly.
"Are you alright Eve?" He asked sincerely.
"Im fine." She replied dryly. He leaned back slightly and removed his hand in shock of her changed attitude. When she realized what she had done she sat back up and faced him with a warm smile."I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. Its just... I'm not very pleased with some of the people that are present." She explained. Hating herself for holding such high anger over the Malfoy.
"Mm.. Lucius I suppose?" Severus asked her, nodding his head in Lucius' direction.
"How did you know?" Eve asked him."Well, when he walked in you seized. Your entire mood shifted." He spoke thoughtfully to her, almost cautiously. When Eve got in one of her darker moods, people typically stayed away from her.
