“Ka hua hai doctor?”, Karishma asked. Hassena phone rang. “Hello, ha boliye Santosh” “....” “kya? Hum abhi aa rahe hai”, Hassena disconnected the call and turned towards Karishma. “Karishma Singh, hame nikalna hoga. Santosh ka call aya tha. Usne bataya ki ek complaint filer ne Thane mein hungama khada kar diya hai. Aap please yaha ka dekh lijiye”, Hassena said and walked out. “Ha bataeye doctor sahab”, Karishma said. “Actually, unhe examine karne ke baad yeh bhi pata chala hai ki unka blood pressure bohot low tha. Unhone kuch dino seh khaana nahi khaya hai kya?”, Doctor asked.

Maa and Karishma looked at each other with shock. “Koi baat nahi hum unka khayal rakh lenge”, Karishma said. Doctor instructed some more things to them and they left. Karishma entered Anubhav's ward  and saw him unconscious and weak. Many instruments attached to him. Karishma caressed his hair and sat beside his bed. “Kahe karte hai aap aaisa Anu bhaiya?? Doctor ne kaha ki aapko kaam ka tension hai par aaisa kaise ho sakta hai? It e saalon mein jab aap field duty par the tab toh aaisa koi tanav nahi tha. Jarur baat kuch aur hai”, a tear escaped her eyes.

It was nearly evening when Someone knocked the door and Karishma quickly wiped the tear. It was Hassena. “Karishma! Aap ghar jaye hum yaha rukte hai. Hum jaante hai ki aap bohot thak gaye hai”, Hassena said. “Nahi madam sir, hum Anu bhaiya ko chodkar kahi nahi jayenge”, Karishma said. Hassena difficulty sent Karishma home by giving strict orders and sat on the couch. She was reading no, just staring the magazine to divert her attention from him. Soon it was dinner time, still he hadn't gain consciousness. She just gulped down two three bites and was done. She hadn't had any appetite after watching him in this state. Soon sleep took over her and she slept on the couch itself.

Her sleep was disturbed midnight when she heard some weird noises. “Kya hua.?”, she said in sleep and found doctor doing something. “Are doctor aap? Kuch hua kya??”, she started panicking. “Ha, patient ko hosh aa raha hai. Sister ayi thi kuch medicines lekar, tabhi hosh aya.”, Doctor said. He done the checkup and left. She sat on the stool. He hadn't still spoken a word. “Sir, aap thik hai na??” “Haa. Hum thik hai lekin hua kya tha?”, he said with pale voice. “Aapne nind ki extra pills le li thi. Par aaisa kyu kiya aapne. Pata hai kya se kya ho jata!!”, she scolded. He chuckled lightly. She was confused.

“Kya hua??”, she asked. “Pata nahi aap itni vichitra batein kyu kar rahi hai?”, he said. “Ek min.. hum ajeeb batein kar rahe hai? Matlab??” “Matlab yeh ki aapko hamari itni chinta kyu ho rahi hai, Hassena ji??”, He asked in the same pale voice. Had he taunted her. “Oh! Iska matlab kahi yeh toh nahi hai na ki aapne hamare karan...” “Nahi nahi, aapne kuch nahi kiya. Hum kisi aur vajah se pareshan hai. Vaise bhi galti hamesha hamari hi hoti hai. Tab bhi thi aur aaj bhi hai. Aur dono baar humne hamare dil karib rehne vali cheeje kho di. Par iss baar hamari galti ki bohot badi saja hame mili hai ”, He closed his eyes again and tears escaped his eyes. She was not able to understand what he was trying to say. The pain in his eyes and heart broke her heart as well. “What kind of mistake had he done now?”, she thought.

“Pata nahi ki Anubhav Sir kis galti ki baat kar rahe the?”, Hassena asked to Karishma. “Aab yeh toh Anu bhaiya hi bata sakte hai. Par voh toh maun vrat dharan kar baithe hai”, Karishma said. “Kisi bhi tarah se hame unse yeh baat nikal vani hi padegi. Iske alava unki problem ka solution nahi nikalne vala”, Hassena explained. “Hame lagta hai ki holi ek baad ek hafte ke bich hi kuch hua hai.”, Karishma mentioned. “Aur aapko aaisa kyu lagta hai??”, Hassena raised her eyebrows at her mention. “Chachiji keh rahi thi ki issi ek hafte mein kuch hua hai. Holi ke baad ek hafte tak gayab the aur jab laute tab aaise khoe khoe rehne lage”, Karishma clarified. “Kon hai Aaisa jo hame iss baat ka clue de sakta hai ki Anu bhaiya aaise kahe kar rahe hai??”, Karishma questioned. “Toh der kis baat ki chalte hai. Baat karte hai unse. Ek aur baar!!”, Hassena signed.

Hassena knocked the door in which Anubhav was there. Maa was caressing hair of sleeping Anubhav. “Aunty ji, kya hua?? Aap yaha? Aap toh Pushpa ji ke saath paas mein hi tehalne gayi thi na”, Hassena said and sat on the chair in the room. “Maan nahi lag raha hamara beta. Jab mujhe yeh baat pata chali thi na ki Anu ne tujhe kisi mission ke liye phasaya tha tab main bohot gussa ho gayi thi. Thappad bhi maar diya.”, Maa's statement shocked Hassena. “Aunty ji, yeh baat aapko sir ne batayi?”, Hassena asked. Maa only nodded. “Kab??” “Holi ke hi din. Jab humne yeh baat pata chali hum yeh baat sahen nahi kar paye Hassena aur maar diya thappad”, Maa wiped her tears. “Fir??”, Hassena asked. “Fir uske agle hi din Anu kahi chala gaya. Mujhe laga mujhse naraj hai par mujhe jab voh Chitti Mili tab mujhe pata chala ki voh kisi kaam se jaa raha hai..” “Aapko pata hai voh kya kaam tha??” “Nahi! Usme sirf kisi mission ke bare mein likha tha ”, Maa completed.

“Agar voh kisi mission par gaye the toh yeh baat hamare senior officers ko jarur pata hogi. Par agar yeh mission confidential hoga toh koi bhi iske bare mein nahi batayega. Aab kya kare???”, Hassena thought.
