What Now?

Party?

Damion woke me up for school in the morning. I took my clothes to the bathroom and changed. I wore a simple grey tank top with skinny jean and black converse.

The ride to school was filled with music and bad singing. When we got to school we kissed goodbye and headed to different classes. My first class was with Tatiana.

"Hey!"

She looked over to me and rolled her eyes. "What?" She hissed.

"I'm really sorry I went out with him T! I completely forgot when I said yes."

"I guess it's okay.. As long as you didnt do it to hurt me and won't do it again."

She's too good of a friend to me and I have to tell her.

"Listen. I really like him. I gotta tell you. Something happened and Emma, my mom, and I are living with him temporarily."

Tatiana's jaw dropped. All she could manage to say was "what." Before I could explain, class started and I told her I would fill her in at break.

The bell rang and we packed up our stuff and headed outside. As we walked out we were silent. Right as I was about to speak up, Sam came up behind us.

"Hello ladies" he winked

"Hey Sam! You weren't at the basketball game!" Tatiana lightly hit his arm.

"Oh" he hesitated "yea sorry I didn't feel well..."

I'm so glad he kept that to himself.

"Sam can you go away? Me and Raini need to talk"

"Actually, I want to tell him too" I piped in before Sam could leave.

I told them it all. My drunk father. The abuse. My mother not knowing. All of it. Then I told them that I'll be living with Damion for a while. They stood there shocked.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys earlier.."

"No it's okay" Tatiana rubbed my back, I hadn't noticed but I had started crying. "It was really brave of you to share this with us hun" I looked up at her and she smiled.

"I love you guys" I looked at them both. I'm so glad they're not freaking out.

"Woah" is all Sam has said since I stopped talking. Then he hugged me. "Let's talk later?" he whispered and kissed the top of my head before walking away.

The rest of school went by pretty slowly. Nothing unusual. Boring as always. Damion was obviously driving me home so I headed to his car.

"Raini!"

I turned around and saw Sam running towards me.

"Hey" he finally got to where I was standing. "We never got to talk"

"Okay? So talk" I smiled at him.

"I know that you're staying with Damion, and dating him, does that mean we can't hang out anymore?"

"If 'hang out' means what happened a few days ago...."

"No Raini. Not if you don't want to."

"Then no. We can definitely still hang out! Damion will understand that nothing will happen between us Sam."

"Good." He chuckled and hugged me.

"Hey?" we turned and saw Damion looking confused.

"Hey babe, this is my friend Sam"

"Hello!" Sam waved.

"Hi, nice to meet a friend of my beautiful girlfriend's"

"Well I gotta go home, so I'll see you tomorrow Raini" he said walking away.

The rest of the week went by pretty fast. The four of us hung out on Thursday and we had a pretty good time. Nothing too interesting happened. I haven't seen my father in almost a week.

When we got home from school on Friday, Tom was waiting for us with adorable mini sandwiches. We thanked him and sat down to eat in the living room.

"Do you wanna go to a party with me?"

"Sure. Wait who's?"

"My cousin's. He goes to our school. His name is Kaleb."

My heart stopped. Kaleb. The guy I've liked so much to the longest time. Shit.

"Sounds good." Wait. Did I agree to that?

"Alright well its in about an hour"

"Okay..."
