When I woke up Damion was already awake. I saw him just standing outside so I joined him. As soon as he noticed me standing next to him, he jumped.
"Fuck Raini don't do that. You look like a monster with your hair like that!"
"What's wrong with my hair!" I yelled running to look at my hair.
My god my hair does look scary. I fixed it and walked back over to Damion.
"Well, you wanna go back into town?" he asked me when he brought his gaze to my face.
"Sure", I really don't want to go home. I'm scared that my dad's gonna be drunk when we get there.
"You don't look like you want to go"
"Can I tell you something?"
"Well can I ask you something?"
"Ok...." I'm kind of scared of what he's gonna say.
"Can we have a second date?"
"Oh, um, yea"
"Now what were you gonna tell me?"
"My dad. He drinks a lot. He either comes home drunk, or he drinks at home." I can already feel the tears going down my face. "Well you know how some people aren't that nice when they're drunk, well he's one of those people. I don't want to go home because I'm kind of scared he's going to be drinking"
Damion took me into his arms. I guess he knew I needed it. I really did need it. He is the only person aside from Sam I've told. I haven't even told Tatianna.
He started whispering comforting things in my ear. I started full on crying. I haven't been able to cry like this in a while.
"What about your mom?" he asked me pulling out of the hug.
"Sh-she doesn't know"
"You need to tell her! How does she not notice!"
"He always drinks when she's not home"
"Well I'll go inside with you. To protect you. I don't want him hurting you."
"That's sweet, but I'm used to it. I'll probably just go somewhere with my friend"
"No, we need to go home and wait for your mom. You need to tell her."
No! He'll kill me!"
"I won't let that happen" he looked in my eyes with a protective, mad look. I'm surprised he cares.
We got in the car and he drove back in to town. "You know I really like you Raini."
"I can tell by the fact that you asked me out. I really like you too"
When we got to my house we didn't see my mom's car, but we saw my dad's car.
"You ready to go inside?" he grabbed my hand for reassurance.
