Four- real feather

When Adrien returns to my apartment he looks sickly. I can only imagine that his allergies are not doing him well after that fight.

"Jesus Christ, where did you go?" I laugh, grabbing his meds from a cabinet.

I hand him the bottle as he says, "I was captured."

"Sure." I reply under my breath.

Adrien puts his medication back in the cabinet and comes up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. He pecks my neck.

"Sorry for leaving you, angel." He whispers.

"It's fine. I was fine." I reassure him.

He doesn't let me go. He's always like this when he leaves. I really do wonder if he thinks his life is in danger sometimes. There's no way he can feel completely safe as a hero.

After hero work, he always gets really affectionate towards me. He clings to me like a monkey, never letting go.

I lean into my boyfriend, he kisses my cheek. It's moments like these where I can forget the world around me. For a brief moment, it's just Adrien and I. A happy, closeted couple who are content with what they have.

Adrien walks into the school, without me. It's the derby hat contest today. I chose not to participate, so I stand by next to Nino, who also didn't participate.

Adrien winks at me as he walks to all the hats. His dad analyzes them through the iPad screen.

What a prick. Doesn't even leave his house for this.

Out of the corner of my eye, I notice two hats that look the same. Chloe's and Marinette's.

I sigh and walk over to Marinette.

"Seems we have a copycat." I whisper.

She jumps at the sight of me. "Y-yeah! Chloe copied me!"

"I believe you," I reassure her, "let's just hope Adrien does too."

She blushes and looks back at Gabriel, who is looking at "Chloe's" hat. Adrien catches sight of me and we smile at each other.

He moves forward and looks at Marinette's hat, confusion crossing his face.

"Marinette copied me!" Chloe cries.

I roll my eyes, and Adrien catches sight of it. He wants to walk over to me, but we can't show affection for each other here.

"I hate to break it to you Chloe but I signed mine." Marinette says, a smug look on her face.

She lifts up the hat to show her name stitched in gold on the brim.

"Humph." Chloe stomps away.

"I would like to use Marinette's hat." Gabriel announces.

"Nice work, Marinette." Adrien says, putting a hand on her shoulder.

She blushes as he takes the hat from her.

*sneeze*

I shake my head with a smile on my face, she must've used a real feather.

"Sorry, I'm allergic to feathers." Adrien apologies.

"Gesundheit." Marinette smiles.
