Tw: flashbacks
This is a month after Peter's Aunt died.
Third POV
Tony was currently in his lab, working on some new projects, listening to ACDC. Getting flashbacks to when he and Pepper were in a relationship, and the time they had broken up. Tony would admit that he still feels broken from that moment. But adopting Jacky, and now Peter, it had helped him forget the events.
He suddenly heard a knock on the door, "Tony, you in there?" It was the familiar voice of Steve. "Yeah, I'm here Capsicle." Steve sighed, walking in with his hands behind his back. "Tony, you feeling alright? You hadn't been come out of the lab for a few days.." The concern present in the Captains voice. "I.. just... flashbacks, flashbacks, thats all.." Tony said, dryly, continuing to work. "I heard about Pepper." Tony froze, those words, he.. Tony sighed, "I could've guessed that you knew."
"Tony, I'm worried for you." Tony's eyes narrowed at those words, he hadn't heard them in a while. Steve was now behind Tony, looking down at him. Tony turned towards him, standing up from his chair, he mouth open slightly as in to say something. But Steve shushed him. "I know, why do I care, because I.. " Steve was trying to find the right words.
"I love you, Tony." Tony's breath hitched hearing that, feeling a deep pit form at the bottom of his stomach. He quickly got flashbacks to when Pepper said that to him. Tony was now leaning against his desk, Steve standing infront of him, concern written all over his face.
"Tony?" Steve clicked his fingers infront of Tony, bringing his attention back to reality. Tony looked at Steve to say something but received a peck on the lips, the pit in Tony's stomach lifting up, calming him. "Steve, I-" "shh, save it for later, dinners almost ready." Steve smiled, making Tony smile. Steve took Tony's hand in his, both of them walking out of the lab together.
