𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞, there we're news reporters filming live in front of our house with a crowd of people behind them. I saw them point the cameras at our car as we parked. When we got out the car I posed for the cameras, and did my famous smirk before flipping my hair fabulously, and strutting inside the house with everyone else.
"You had to pose?" my aunt Michaela asked smiling slightly, "Of course." I smirked shaking my head.
I walked more in the house and saw pictures of my sister and some pictures of me from five years ago. My baby pictures went over the walls, from ballet, to cheer, to even karate. I walked upstairs and made my way to my old bedroom, everything was mostly gone but my bed, there was a white bed set and my room looked more as a guest bedroom.
Pictures were there on the floor. Most of my clothes were gone and it's like they started to clean it out but then just left it all in boxes. I remade my bed the way I like it and put all the pictures back up, putting away all of the clothes that was left then I stepped upon a picture of me and my boyfriend Ethan so I decided to call him. It rung for a few seconds but then got picked up.
"Hey, E." I smiled as I laid back on my bed.
"Olivia?" The masculine, much deeper voice than I remember said from the other line. "I saw you on the news and I couldn't believe it I've missed you." Ethan said shocked breathing heavily.
"I'm glad to hear you missed me babe." I said looking at my nails and deciding it had been five years so I should get them redone because they were so 2013. "When are you coming to see me?" I asked as it went silent for a bit.
"Listen Olivia I- After two years of you being gone I moved on um I have a girlfriend and two kids we- we can't be together any longer." he said sighing and my eyes widened
"Are you serious?" I laughed a bit bitterly. "I got a shitting promise ring from you with real diamonds." I reminded rolling my eyes and standing up to go over to my vanity where my jewelry box was. "That was before everything, before I knew this would happen Livy. How would I have known you'd return after 5 years? You know I'll always have love for you, you were my everything. I can't just pack up and leave my family." Ethan sighed, but all I could feel is hurt.
"You know what have fun with your ugly ass girlfriend sipping martinis on shit island." I spat with my hands trembling in anger
"Listen I'm sorry Olivia. I'm so happy you're safe, and I wish you nothing but happiness." he stuttered before the line disconnected, I threw my phone probably cracking it but I need a newer updated one anyways that ones probably outdated
I let out a huge sigh then I laid on my bed. I ended up falling asleep and not too long later being awaken by a voice that wasn't my own.
'Confront your mom.'
The voice said and I sighed tiredly, hitting my head before noticing no one was in the room.
'Confront her.'
The voice said louder and I rolled my eyes."Shut the hell up thoughts confront her about what?" I sighed in question.
'Her Boyfriend.'
"My mom is married she doesn't have a shitting boyfriend shut the hell up." I said standing while putting on headphones, and blaring music to go back to sleep. I usually talk to my self so it wasn't that weird to me but it was that it kept repeating itself.
—The next morning my phone must have died because the voice started all over again.
'Confront your mom!'
The voice screamed in my head and I shot up from my sleep and rolled my eyes. I held onto my head groaning in pain. The voices wouldn't stop.
"Damn if I tell her would you shut the fuck up? A girl can't even sleep." I breathed, getting up from my bed, yawning.
'Confront your mom.'
The voice repeated, so I walked in the kitchen where I saw my mom cooking breakfast and I sighed.
'Confront your mom.'
"Mom do you have a boyfriend?" I blurted out. Grace turned around and her eyes shot wide like she's been caught with something, and she looked panicked. I scrunched my face to her reaction placing my hand on my hip staring at her with a sharp gaze.
"Did your sister tell you? Look I'm trying to figure things out I mean it's been five years, I had to move on at some point." Grace said rambling, I squinted my eyes at her.
"What no she didn't tell me.." I said trailing off in thought. I wondered if my father knew, "How'd you find out?" she asked as tears brimmed in her eyes
"No comment." I replied not wanting to comfort her much before walking out of the room back upstairs. " I need new clothes." I said sighing to myself
After a few minutes I got dressed and sat on my bed bored until my dad knocked.
"Hey you wanna come with me to your sister's practice? You know catch up learn more about her." Ben asked and I smiled nodding
"Yeah sure." I beamed.
—"Dad, Olivia what are you doing here?" Olive asked rubbing up to us as if she didn't want us there, she looked around nervously.
"Checking out the team. You guys look good" Dad smiled. "Came to watch." I shrugged confused with her concerns.
"Thanks. Parents and siblings don't usually show up to practice." Olive said sourly, narrowing her eyes at us both.
"Well, this parents got some catching up to do." My dad said sighing, "and this big sister also has some catching up to do." I repeated smiling slightly as she shook her head to us both dismissively.
"Listen I.." my dad began trailing off as he took a deep breath. "—just wanted to say I'm so sorry for everything." He chocked out sadly.
"you both don't have to apologize." my baby sister said shaking her head. "I wasn't going to." I mumbled, and I saw her crack a smile.
"For something that happened to you both." Olive finished, "I made the choice to stay behind and so did your sister." Ben said
"It was a long time ago, dad." Olive tried to reason
"Not for me. Here you've been all this time, stuck, picking up the pieces. Even before I got on that plane, I'd been so caught up with trying to help Cal get better so he could live a long life and to be there for Olivia at her cheer practices or just anything, I lost sight of your life and now you probably feel like you don't know me. But we're gonna fix that. I'm not going anywhere." Ben promised his youngest daughter before she jumped into his arms and hugged him. Olive let go and hugged me until the whistle blew meaning their break was over
"Hey, you better get back out there." I smiled at her as she smiled and ran back over to her team.
"I'm proud" he said watching her.
"I am to." I said
