One few days later
Arizona woke up extra bubbly, it was a Monday and she had work. She had been off for the weekend. She missed her students tremendously, but most of all she missed the tanned mother of her newest student, they had been friendly the rest of the week and she missed it. Arizona loved teaching, She loved her students, she loved seeing them grow and learn. She had always gotten along with the parents, that was mostly because she got along with everyone. Arizona was a people person. She had a few teacher friends like mr. Alex Krev who taught the second graders, and mrs.Corey who taught the other kindergarten class. But she was not as friendly with ms.joann Stewart.

She set about her day and got to school to set up. She was going to be teaching about the difference between upper and lower cases today. She had printed off multiple coloring pages and she bought fun stickers for her class to learn with. She was super excited. She was also super surprised to see Callie and River walk in first today.

"Hi ms. Robbins!" the little girl greeted her teacher as she hugged her mom goodbye.

"Hey sweetie, are you ready for class today?"

"I'm very ready."

"Have a good day at work calliope" arizona smiled at callie making sure her dimples were on full display.

'I, uh, yah you too," Callie said. She could tell she was turning beet red. Arizona made her nervous and that smile could knock her off her feet.

Arizona could tell her was making the brunette nervous and she hoped it was in a good way.  So she just smiled as the woman walked out blushing.

..........................................................................................................

"Elliot, sit back down and stop running through the classroom please!"

Arizona was at her wits end today. The kids did not want to be there and it showed. She had to speak to multiple students today. She also had to go over certain things a few times because of interruptions. There would be no free time at the end of class today like she had hoped. At this point she was not even sure she would make it all the way through her plan. But she smiled and remained calm and just kept reminding them to be on their best behavior and that kept them mostly calm for the rest of the class. She saved coloring for last.

Callie and Mark had agreed to lunch today on their breaks. Callie picked them up some sandwiches from the little deli across the street and they ate out back of the shop and practice, at a little picnic table that was therefore employees' breaks.

"I don't know what I'm gonna do mark"

"What do you mean cal?"

"I have a crush. On my daughters teacher mark, like cant eat cant sleep kinda crush. Today she smiled at me and i stammered. I don't stammer. I'm hardcore. I kick ass. But when I'm around her, that all goes out the window."

"You should go for it"

"I can't, it wouldn't be right. What if it confuses River. I don't want to make things harder for her, she's been through a lot."

"Cal, you do so much for everyone. You need to think about you too. What if you only saw her when River was not around."

"I thought about that but I don't have anyone to watch her, '' Callie hung her head in defeat.

"That's not true you know me and Lexie are always up for some quality niece time"

"You don't have to do that mark." Callie gave him a sad smile.

Reaching out and taking callies hand "I want to Cal, you've had a rough year and you deserve this. Let me help." he squeezed her hand.

" I love you Mark, you're the best friend I have ever had."

"I know."

Callie and Mark sat and talked for the last half an hour of their break but Arizona still occupied callies mind the entire time and the rest of her work day. She was thankful it went by fairly quickly.

Callie decided while she wasn't quite ready to ask out Arizona yet, she was gonna flirt a little back when she picked up her daughter though. So she made her mind up to take her time getting to school so she would hopefully be the last adult picking up the kids.

...............................................................................................................

"Alright class your big people will be arriving anytime now, why don't we start packing up and cleaning our work stations everyone."

The class picked up their stations while she sat quietly at her desk thankful That her day was over and she could relax. She had only a few students who behaved and she was thankful for that. Her new student river was one of them, so far she was always a good student. Eager to learn, always willing to participate, willing to share and always polite.

All the students had left and it was just Arizona and River when Callie walked through the door.

"You look exhausting ms.Robbins"

Arizona looked up and smiled

"It has been a long day, kids were restless today"

"Oh"

"Not River though she was a perfect student like always. " Arizona rustled the small girl's hair as she had joined the now standing arizona and her mom.

"Look what i made mommy" the girl held up a giant purple and red c she had colored.

"That is beautiful Mija."

"C is for callie! I used both our favorite colors mommy"

"I love it baby, why don't you grab your backpack ok?"

With that the girl ran off and Callie turned her attention solely on the blonde. She took a deep breath and took the leap of flirting back. Hoping this wouldn't be a giant mistake.

"That shirt really brings out your eyes, eyes a girl could get lost in ms.Robbins" saying Robbins in a sultry deeper voice.

Now it was the blondes turn to blush.

"Thank you, calliope!"

"Your welcome" callie reached out and ran her hand down Arizona's arm "see you tomorrow."

Callie and River left, leaving behind a brite red teacher. Callie was most pleased with herself, almost like her edge was back. Almost.

...........................................................................................................
Later that night

As Callie tucked her mini me in bed she decided to press her about her new teacher and school.

"How do you like your new school sweety?" Callie asked gently.

"I love it mommy."

"How do you like your teacher?"

"She's so awesome mommy. We have the same favorite color, she always has good snacks and lets us color everyday!"

"That's awesome baby!"

"Thanks mommy, i go to bed now? I have school tomorrow"

"Absolutely, I love you mija."

Callie was glad her daughter loved school so much and she was glad she liked arizona. It made her feel more confident about asking her out, even if she weren't gonna know right off, but Callie hoped one day it could be the three of them doing fun things.
