I'm sorry it's been awhile. I helped a friend move. So I've been exhausted. Then we had an inspection on my building and its been hectic, then i got sick with like five random symptoms all at once. I hope you enjoy this update. I got a new writing laptop. So sorry if i make a few extra mistakes. I'll try to proofread a little better. Feel free to drop a review.
...............................................................................................................Callie was excited. Today was her big date. Arizona would be here any minute. Mark and Lexie had taken River to the ice cream parlor. The little tyke was excited back where she was from, didn't have one. River was pleading for a double scoop of chocolate.
Callie chose to dress up a little nicer than for just a coffee shop. so she picked out a white dress with black spots and black sandals. She put on her favorite ruby red lipstick and a simple gray eyeshadow.
There was a knock at the door. Callie smiled to herself as she strolled through the house to answer the door. her breath immediately taken when she sung the big red door open. There stood Arizona dressed in a pink sundress with a black belt and a silver butterfly buckle. and hair pulled back in a high ponytail. She looked great.
"Hey calliope! You look beautiful."
"Thank you arizona, so do you!" Callie stepped out of the house and Arizona took her hand graciously. When they got to the car, Arizona opened callies door.
"Thank you." Caliie beamed up at her from the passenger side
"So I was thinking we could go to a little dinner instead. There is this beautiful train cart dinner on the other side of the bridge, I was thinking we can go to. grab a burger or something?"
Callie was a little nervous to eat in front of Arizona and spend so much time with her. But on the other side she was starving for not just food but more time with her. She hadn't seen her much since thier hook up and wanted to spend time with her.
"Sounds great." They both buckled up and Arizona pulled out of the driveway. Once they arrived Arizona placed her hand on callies thigh which caused the brunette's heart to race and told her to wait a minute. Callie was confused until the blonde opened her door. Arizona also opened the dinner door. The inside was a 50s style diner with green booths and chrome finishings. It ran length wise. Booths on one side and a kitchen on the other with a bar.
"Party of two?" The waitress asked. both girls nodded their heads and followed her to a booth in the back. She placed menus. in front of them and said she would be back. They went over the menus quietly until they both decided.
"Do you come here often?" Callie asked Arizona.
"I come as a treat every now and then"
"What's the treat?"
"It's not everyday I get the school's hottest mom to agree to a date with me."
callie could feel a blush creeping up her neck. It had been a long time since someone had called her hot. though callie knew she was hot. Smoking hot actually. and Arizona was smoking hot too. Both girls were just talking to the other woman for a few minutes.
"Well i wouldn't say hottest, have you seen dara's mom?" Caliie kinda chuckled.
"I have."
"So, have you lived here all your life?" Callie questioned.
"No, actually I'm from boston." Arizona stated.
"Nice what made you move?'' Arizona really didn't want to get into the conversation. Not that she wanted to hide anything from Callie; she just didnt want to spoil the mood. They were both smiling and hearing about her dead brother is a mood killer.
"I needed a change in pace. a fresh start if you will." She smiled and gave the simpler answer to callie.
"Well I'm glad you chose here." Callie winked at Arizona.
"What can I get you ladies?" the server walked up to their table. Callie decided on a bacon cheese burger with onion rings and a coke. Arizona went with breakfast and got a stack of pancakes and some hash browns and an orange juice and both girls also got a coffee.
"What about you, I know that you must be new to auburn but are you new to montana?" Arizona asked gently.
"Well i came from california in a small little town, probably smaller than this one . but same as you i needed a fresh start after my divorce.'' Callie was more forthcoming with her answer.
"I'm sorry you had a bad break up.""Thank you but it led me here so i guess it all worked out didn't it?" Callie smiled brightly at arizona. Glad she was here and not anywhere else in the world. She was one who had a tendency to rush things and she didn't want to spook Arizona, but Callie really wanted to ask her out officially. Arizona was having the same thoughts.
"Yes i suppose so.'' Arizona reached her hand across the table and took callies hand in her own. Both girls thought a fire would start with all the sparks they were feeling.
The food came. and they chatted some more about what arizona's lesson plan was for the year and about callies new job and fell into a soft but comfortable silence as they ate. Then Arizona drove callie home. arizona opened the doors again. proving to be such a gentle woman. callie was not used to this kind of treatment. Arizona took callies hand and they strolled casually up the drive not really in any rush to say goodbye. they couldnt see eachother till monday and it would only be a short time.
"Calliope, may i kiss you?'' Arizona asked nervously . Callie just shook her head yes and leaned down to the shorter woman. Heart raising. when their lips touched it was like nothing either of them had ever felt before.
"Mommy!" River squealed with joy as she flung the door open.
