A/n hope everyone is enjoying the story so far. Here's a small chapter in honor of Jessica's birthday. Which also makes it mine, 28 today. Enjoy!

...........................................................................................................

Callie stirred with the morning light creeping in through Arizona's window. She had forgotten where she was as she moved her dark raven hair out of her sleepy crusted eyes. Last night she had a better night's sleep than she had in years, she felt safe here. She felt the heaviness of a thin arm stretched over her hip bone. No one could see but there was a giant smile posted on her face. She was not ready to get up yet. But she didn't mean to fall asleep and did not want Mark to be upset that she stayed out all night leaving him with River. She wasn't sure what this meant from them. She's never experimented before. If this was just a one night thing it would suck, but she would be happy for last night. Thankfully she hadn't drank so much so she could reminness about the night for a long time. Especially in the shower.

"What are you thinking about pretty lady?"

That smile just grew on callies face.

"Nothing." Callie was a little embarrassed that she was fanning like a high school kid.

"I'm thinking about last night." Callie felt a light kiss her neck.

"It was a pretty good night."

Callie rolled in Arizona's arms bringing them face to face. Both girls were just melting in the morning, Beaty that was the other girl. Arizona blue eyes pierced into Callies dark brown orbs. Almost as if she was trying to read Callies soul. They started to kiss lightly and patiently. But were rudely interrupted by Callies phone. It had gone off a few times throughout the night but both girls were too wrapped up to hear it. Callie huffed and rolled over and grabbed her phone.

Mark
You go Callie! Staying out all night. Hope its good. Don't worry about River, she's passed out full of ice cream.

Devon
Hey Callie, I'm in town and would love to see River. And you.

Mark
She up. Gonna throw some cartoons on for her, take your time you sly dog.

Devon
I'm free at 4 pm see you then

Devon
I demand an answer. She's my daughter and I have the right to see her.

Callie huffed in frustration. She did not want to spend the afternoon with Devon for him to see River. But she was not sending her alone. He's pretty much a stranger to her.

"What's wrong babe?" The pet name just slipped out, though lost on a frustrated Callie.

"River's father wants to see her. He hasn't seen her since before the divorce. And I have full custody."

Callie pulled her phone out and sent an angry text.

Callie
Have some patience, I just woke up. 4 is fine i'll meet you at mcdonalds. On park ave. If you're more than 15 minutes late I will leave and this will be the last time.

"Are you gonna go?" Arizona was a little nervous; she didn't want Callie to go for a few reasons, one being he doesn't sound the most stable guy and two she didn't want them to get back together, that sounded very unlikely though.

Arizona sat and watched Callie text. Arizona loved having Callie in her bed. The tall beauty had the sun hitting her face just enough to give callies an illuminating glow. She wanted this to be in a forever moment. Callie typed furiously with her ex-husband. She huffed and put her phone down.

"Guess I'm meeting him at McDonald's at 4. Guess I should go."

Arizona was disappointed she wanted to spend more time with callie.

"Can I drive you home then?"

For the first time all morning she thought to look at the clock. Because even though she was texting never recalled looking at the clock. She found herself quite surprised to find it was already 1pm.

The drive home is a mostly quiet ride. They both stole secret glances from each other. One is no more happier than the other. Although they were both wondering what that meant for them and where it left "them". Callie wanted to take it slow and date but Arizona wanted to dive right off and soar.

When they arrived to Callies place, Arizona leaned in and kissed her softly on callies cheek, which made Callie blush emencily.

"Thanks for a good night calliope."

"The pleasure was all mine." Callie strutted up the driveway and into Marks luxurious house. All smiles and hope. She loved that Marks house, while modern and sleek looking, had one small quirk in the vintage spiral staircase in his living room that led to the second floor.

"River?" Callie yelled up to her daughter.

"Here mommy" the little girl popped up from the kitchen bar.

"We're gonna visit daddy today." Callie was faking a smile and cheerful voice so as to not throw the youngster off.

"No i color"

"Please baby, will have McDonald's." That was a bribe.

" with a happy meal and toy?"

" is there any other kind."

Callie chuckled and got her daughter ready. They took a bath and brushed her hair and then new clothes. Before she left she found Mark thank him for letting her have the night and that she owed but he just mocked her and joked about it. And not responding at all.
