"Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence."
--Proverbs 27:9 TPTβ
We lift our hands in the sanctuary
We lift our hands to give you the glory
We lift our hands to give you the prai-ai-aise
And we will praise you for the rest of our days
Yes, we will praise you for the rest of our days…The congregation of The Revealing Church sang out loud along with the worship team. Fola looked around and everyone was jumping and shouting, reveling in worshipping and praising God.
I love this song in particular. She had her hands raised high, jumping along to the rhythm.
These instrumentalists know what they are doing! She thought as she joined the bass guitarist in playing with her own air bass guitar. Anyone looking at her would have thought she was as skilled as the bass guitarist himself.
Before she knew it, service was drawing to a close and the lead pastor asked for the first-time guests to make their way to the front of the altar. She hadn't gone out when she came for the midweek service. And she had no plans to go out but the coaxing of the Hospitality Team members around her finally made her stand up and walk to the front.
As she faced the congregation along with other first-time guests, she thought. Oh my! What a crowd.
Before she knew it, she was being told, along with other guests, to follow a young lady to a reception where they will be properly welcomed. The smiles and love and shouts of rejoicing from the congregation at their arrival was overwhelming and almost tear-jerking. As she turned to follow the rest of the guests and the team, she thought she saw someone she knew.

Godswill was all smiles along with his team members. They had been properly taught to esteem God's precious ones highly. He was busy distributing the gift bags and snacks to the guests when he heard a soft call of his name. He looked around thinking it was his H.O.D that was calling for his attention, until he felt a light tap on his forearm. He turned to look in that direction when he saw a familiar face.
"Hiiiii." He drew it out. "Fancy seeing you here. How are you?" He was so sure his smile rivalled the brightness of the sun at the moment. It was always a joy to see a familiar face every now and then.
Fola returned the smile. "Hey. I'm good. And you?"
"I'm good too. It's Folashade, right?"
"Yes, it is."
"Welcome to church. Your first time here?" Isn't that a dumb question, Godswill? Why else would she be sitting here?
"Actually, no. I was here for the midweek service. I just didn't come out during the welcoming. But I didn't have a choice today."
"I can imagine. You're welcome to church. It's so good to see you." He looked around her and she seemed to know what or who he was looking for.
"Vwede has her own church," she said knowingly.
He turned his gaze on her and saw the smirk playing around her lips but he said nothing to that. He just smiled back at her.
"Mr. Efe," he heard his name being called.
"Uhm, I gotta go but I'll see you before you leave. Maybe I can even drop you off at home or somewhere close to home. You can wait for me inside the main auditorium when you're done here."
