Hi, my name is Yoon Jeonghan. A final-year college student. Now, I'm standing outside the uni, waiting for my lovely boyfriend. His name is Joshua, Hong Joshua. He's in his first year. Also a Fine Arts Club member. He loves to paint. His specialty, painting with his fingers. Do not wonder how I got a younger boyfriend. It just happened somehow. Six months when we started dating.
He's so sweet, like really sweet. So sweet that might give you a toothache. Also, so innocent, humble, and quiet. He is just a cute fluffball, so much like a baby. I'm so lucky to have him. He never complains, never denies me for anything, whatever I do. Yes, whatever. If I'm kissing him, he never resists me, sometimes I get a little carried away with him, he still doesn't say anything, even though he doesn't feel like it. He just wants me to be happy. Does what I like, eats what I like, smiles through pain for me. And I hate it.
Yes, I hate it. I feel like I'm forcing myself on him like he's just a plaything for me. And he's not. I care about him so much. But he doesn't speak for himself, what he wants and what doesn't. I always have to figure it out myself. So the least I can do is not to take any advantage of him. I can't imagine hurting him even in my dreams. I love him the most.
Soon, the FAC starts getting empty, in the crowd of students, Joshua spots me. He smiles and comes running to me, like a puppy. Okay, I like this boy. I like him. When he's happy to see me. I smile and open my arms, he lands on me, and I hug him tightly. I ruffle his smooth black hair, and he gives me his cute eye smile. God, he's so adorable.
"So, did you make anything today?" I ask. He takes out his sketchbook from the bag and shows a painting to me. It was a weird-looking guy with a red beret cap and two gold coins on his eyes. "Who is he?"
"I don't know. A man?" he says. His imaginations are beyond this world. I never know what goes on in this boy's mind.
"What's that on his neck?"
"A big scar,"
"How did he get this?"
"I don't know,"
I leave this conversation. No use. Sorry, I forgot to mention, he's a little weird too. Sometimes, I just don't understand him. "Want to eat ice cream?" I ask. He nods. In my six months with him, I at least know that he likes ice creams so much. His favorite is cookies and cream. And I had to suffer a lot to know this. 'I like what you like,' is his answer every time I ask him about any of his favorites. So I tried taking different flavors, each time. And finally, I know that he enjoys vanilla and cookie cream. I order two on an ice cream truck, it was just a little distance from uni.
"How's it?" I ask
"Good," he answers after taking a bite. I like his quietness. He eats so slowly, I've already finished mine. I wait for him.
"Done?" I ask looking at him. He nods. His mouth and fingers are smeared with crumbs. A baby, literally. I chuckle, he looks at me with his puppy eyes. I take some tissues and wipe his fingers one by one, then his mouth. "Here, all clean," I pay and we head toward his house. He never leaves my hand whenever we're out, he's afraid he'll get lost.
I realized the sun is already set.
