Hello my Lovely Readers, enjoy Scott getting his Sensitive on.  In preparation for the final chapter in Case 2!

Case 2 - "Blood Bank

Being seated at Zass's feet gave me a different perspective on things.  For one, I'm tall and people tend to move out of my way.  It's not a conscious thing, they just see the tall guy approach and move before they have to, so I don't mow them down.  Here, seated on the floor, I was the one moving to stay out of the way of unwary feet.  I scooted back and sat cross-legged just so I could keep my hands in my lap and away from the boots and shoes passing in front of me.

Zass spread his legs so I could have some measure of safety between them, and he put his hand on the back of my neck.  I was glad he was touching my skin.  I could at least feel his emotions, and the tension as we waited for whatever we were about to see.  The tiers of seats were widely spaced, enough so that even I had a decent view of the dungeon below.  As the two figures entered, I recognized one.  She was the woman dressed Egyptian style who had been talking to Misha.  I assumed that meant she was Bast, and the other?

The figure wore a white robe, had her eyes downcast and was led into the middle of the space by Bast.  She wore a cat's ear headband and... wait, those were real!

I could see the fur on her ears ruffling in the warm artificial air being pumped into the room.  I guessed to encourage the consumption of alcohol and whatever else they served at the bar here.  When she was brought to a sharp halt by the lead attached to the collar around her neck, the robe slipped open slightly and I identified what I was actually seeing.  The 'robe' was in reality wings.  Wings that she had drawn around herself to protect from the things looking at her skimpy costume.  It consisted of a double slit skirt which showed her legs all the way up to the belt at her waist.  The miniscule chest piece was held down by the multi-coloured jewelled panel that her collar was attached to and gold serpent arm and thigh cuffs completed the outfit.   Holy crap she had paws for feet!

I searched my rusty mythology memory banks and came up with Sphinx.  Winged lion right?  Wait did she have a tail?  Yes.  I smiled as I watched in awe as she outstretched the wings and showed off the complete picture, but then I looked at her face and I knew she didn't want to be there.  Her blank face was so lifeless it got my cop instincts twitching.  I heard Misha breathe "Iris."

All I knew about the Dom/Sub lifestyle was how a 'true' relationship involved care, safety and permission.  The cruel smile on Bast's face as she strapped Iris into the Cross and tied back her wings and tail, didn't inspire confidence that she gave any kind of damn about the woman she was about to torture, because I knew instinctively she wasn't walking over to the sex toy table.

I heard Zass breathe out a disgruntled kind of breath and glanced up at him to see his concerned expression, both for the woman in the pit and the friend next to him.  Misha's face was about as blank as Iris's down below, yet I sensed that he didn't love her.  She wasn't even one of his previous lovers, but a sister? perhaps was?  Yes, he was thinking about another Sphynx, Irene?  Anyway, he felt obligation, concern for the outcome of the session with Bast after their discussion and distaste for the suggestion that he participate.  In a private setting among friends and those he wanted to be with, Misha was flamboyant, social and provocative.  But in front of strangers his more reserved manner won the day.  Especially here when he owed Lucifer a favour.

Bast stalked around her prey with two options in her hands, a whip and a crop.  The use of either didn't appeal to me so I ignored the scene and started surveying the audience members that I could see.  I noted the exits, the amount of security, the numbers of people enjoying the show and those that were seated in similar positions to mine.  I could see a quick exit that took us back to the Sushi Bar that appeared to be unattended.  If shit hit the fan that's the way I'd drag Zass, and anyone else needing a quick exit.  Strategy mapped out I returned my attention to the pit.
