OMG!!! So you Lovely Readers need to know that Dark Stranger just hit 10K!  So I'm officially calling this Book 1.  I haven't got cover art yet, so seriously if someone does me an edit of Mitch's Goth look with fangs and ice blue eyes... maybe with Scott's exposed throat waiting for attention???????  I would adore that!

You all need to go check out @MichelleDellis's One Shot.  @ggmomma0812 and I begged her to write one under her own name and the Lovely Girl that she is, she did it!  Based on Scott's 'Sensual' Mitch snapchat.  Also please check out @ggmomma0812's works, especially her One Shots if you haven't already because Michelle wrote 'Take Your Shirt Off Part 2'.  You will need tissues!  Fair warning.

Lastly, I'm off on a retreat this long weekend with limited internet access so sorry Lovely Readers, you'll have to wait a bit longer than usual for a new chapter.

Case 3 - "Dragonfire"

When the sun went down the next evening, there was news waiting for us from the morgue.  Kirstie was distraught.  There had never been a total loss of a body before.  The file going missing meant that she had been automatically placed on the review list for work practices and that meant we would have to lay low for a while.  Thank goodness she had taken her usual copious notes in her own journal.  Her mentor, the Director was very understanding, but rules were rules, and even though he likened Kirstie to a daughter, he couldn't stop the board from taking action.

There was no question she'd get through it in one piece employment wise, after all who could possibly have foreseen a flame thrower being used in such a small space.  Or at least that's what the Fire Department was assuming it was... because in 2015 there was no such thing as monsters or things that went bump in the night, right?  Emotionally though she was a wreck.  Even though she wasn't present when it happened, and there was nothing she could have done to prevent it from happening, she was still totally upset that it did.  Besides Del could have been hurt and it was a case she was responsible for.

We reassured her that we would keep our distance in case the board actually found their way down to her office.  We were pretty sure that they'd never even pushed the elevator button let alone ventured down into the morgue.  But they might review security and that might put a spanner in the works as far as getting access to the weird stuff.  But we'd cross that bridge when we came to it.

There was also an interesting message on my phone from someone we assumed was called Avriel.  This is what we heard...

Deep Voice - "There is no one here who can help you identify a body.  Please don't come here again."

Woman's voice - "Avriel, who are you talking to?"

Deep Voice Muffled - "No one...

Deep Voice Louder - "Don't come here again."

Phone rings off.

Scott said, "Well that was interesting."

"Mmm Hmm."  I nodded, then pointed out that 'Avriel' hadn't blocked his caller I.D.  "Shall we ring him?"  I asked.

"Can't hurt!" Scott replied, "Although... What do we say now there's no body?"

I shrugged.  "They probably already know that.  Maybe we ask how they knew our dead friend and find out if they've heard of the Council.  After all I guess there are some Supernaturals who try to stay out of the politics, but they should all know the rules."

"Which are?"  Scott asked.

"1. Don't get caught.  2. Don't leave evidence.  3. Obey the Council.  4.  See rules one through three."
