Case 1 - "Scott"

We took Misha's car. It wasn't the Aston Martin, more's the pity. It was a non-descript town car, there were thousands like it and we blended in with the late night traffic perfectly. We went to Scott's station house first and listened in til we found out that Scott's Partner, Robert was out on his dinner break with Franks and Alvarez, the very people we were looking for. It was also a good thing that when they reported in that they were taking the break they had to give the location too.

When we arrived at the location, we discovered it was a modest family restaurant. Not a good place to eavesdrop or take matters into our hands if necessary. We weren't accompanied by any humans so the food issue was a problem also collateral damage was going to be something we had to be concerned about. Misha wasn't as worried about things like that, but these days I tended to think before I acted a bit more than I did back in the day. We waited for a lull in the conversations and honed in on the one we were interested in. The three dirty cops were there with a fourth person. The female they were eating with was obviously the one with more authority, given the deferential nature of the discussion the men were having with her.

"The meeting place has been decided. The Master will reveal himself to you at the correct time and not before." She said.

Robert's voice, "But Dodger Stadium? Really Ma'am?"

"Yes." She replied. "It is here, he will reveal himself to the rest of his followers and transform the City into Hell on earth."

Her voice sounded so happy at the big reveal. I grimaced at the blind obeisance in it and wanted to decapitate her right then and there. However she was going to lead us higher up the food chain, hopefully to all of the others involved so we could deal with all of the foolish followers at the Stadium and not have to go round up strays. When they had finished eating and were leaving, we took notice of the owner of the voice and followed her. She was an Apple Pie looking WASP type with a little dog in her purse. Misha said "You get Mommy, I'll get the dog."

"Mash!" I exclaimed. "You can't interrogate a dog, don't be silly."

"Who says?" He said belligerently. "I've got more information out of dogs than you'll ever get out of humans."

I rolled my eyes, but it could be true. Dogs always knew where their masters hid things, where they kept the important things and yep, Misha could get them to show him everytime. "OK, OK, when the time comes you grab the dog. Let's just see where she goes first."

We followed her to City Hall and the observation deck. She met with another person, this time another female, who also had a toy dog in her purse. Misha grinned at me and pointed at the dog. "Mine." He said. This one we recognized from 'Scene and Heard'. She was a prominent businessman's daughter and just the type of bored society socialite to get involved in the dark arts on a whim and get sucked into the glamour. That is until the minions of hell came down with their Master and she found out they would be the ones doing whatever they wanted to her, not obeying her commands as she'd been duped into believing.

They cooed over their purse pooches and discussed plans for the coming gathering. When they were ready to leave, we decided to follow the new arrival. She led us to a private high rise. As we wanted to find out more information and needed a distraction so one of us could search her apartment, we decided to bait the honey pot trap and we made sure she'd notice us. We watched to see who she preferred, so the other one was on cat-burglar duties.

When her gaze rested longer on Misha than me, I happily let him take one for the team. He went up to her and asked if she had the time. She immediately leant into Misha's personal space and smiled widely as she responded. "Eeww, someone's a bit eager." I muttered to myself. They went into the building arm in arm after a short discussion and I followed noting the floor the elevator stopped on before taking the stairs. When I reached the correct floor, I realized I would have to deal with the security on the door before I entered the hall.
