Florida

"Excuse me?"

"Don't make me repeat it. A bitter aftertaste is already in my mouth by uttering those words."

Ares eyed his twin, who had his gaze away from the computer screen that held their video call. It has been a few weeks since the fall of Dominion and their roles as sect leaders being announced, but this call was the first for the brothers in that time. The talk of work was prohibited. This call was for the sake of their bond. Word reached Florida of Lucifer's change in demeanor and the reason behind it, but he didn't broach the subject, nor did he ask Eros of its contents. With Eros being in deep thought after Luke's confirmation, he knew his twin came to the same conclusion. Deep down, Ares feared this when things began to come at them too quickly. They were all raised in this environment; for someone who came from the black and white world society showed them, it will be tough to change their perspectives.

"Did she say where she will be heading?" he asked.

"Mama knows. Ami and I agreed to a no contact rule until she's ready, well until she has an answer for me," Lucifer returned. Judging by his background and clothing, their older brother was at the office. He hasn't been home since Amara left, father opened up the city penthouse for him, but he hasn't slept there since.

"Are you worried that she won't come back?"

Ares received a sharp glare from Lucifer and the Eros' infamous admonishing look to answer his question. "Apologies," he mumbled.

"She'll be back. The question is when that will be. Amara learned to live and gain relationships through books and her grandmother's teachings. Most people will translate her shyness and observance to being cocky and rude, but we didn't. We were the first set of people to understand her quirks and understand her. Her definition of reality altered and was extremely different from the posed scenarios books gave when a fictional society like us was revealed, plus her mother being a part of something people tend to ignore. Her world changed in a matter of months; accepting it all in a flash will be hard for her," Eros explained.

"But mama accepted father easily...."

"Mama's life had to change when she was our age, Ares. Did you forget? Uncle Kane and Kory pulled her into this world to survive what life was throwing at her. She had years to train and understand it all. Amara fell into it when she made that contact with Lucifer," his brother continued. He flinched by the harsh tone Eros started with, and as he continued, he regretted his unfeeling words.

"How long do you think she will need?" Lucifer asked his little brother.

"I'm not certain. Are you willing to wait as long as it takes?"

Eros' lips twitched in amusement, finally understanding a bit of what love really is. He was skeptical of his older brother's drastic change and his unbending dedication to Amara, but now he can understand.

"Very well. I will keep an eye on her until she's ready to come home," he relayed to the two.

"You know where she is?!" Lucifer asked incredulously.

"Of course. She is my older sister, after all. We shall talk soon. Oh, and good work Ares," Eros commented, giving his twin a nod of approval before logging out.
Lucifer chuckled despite his forlorn mood. Talking to his brothers always lifts his spirits. "You still seek his approval? You're twins, little brother; what's the point in that?" he commented after seeing the little blush on Ares' face.

"I know, but he's always so put-together and adaptable while I tend to mess things up until I finally get it right. So I decided to stay in Florida to challenge my self, and I did; having Eros approve of me makes it all satisfying," Ares explained.
