Katie and Maggie
Marcia and Stephanie came by in the morning to help the girls pack and move. They had everything packed up by late afternoon and were carrying the boxes down to the car for transport. The girls talked excitedly about their new lives, but Marcia, who knew them very well, suspected something was wrong.
"Okay, spill," Marcia demanded. "What is it you're NOT telling us?"
This brought tears to both girls eyes, and Katie stopped and set down her box on the table. She looked down at it and ran her fingers over it for a few minutes. "They're in trouble right now," she said.
"What kind of trouble?" asked Marcia.
Katie looked at Maggie, who nodded. They indicated to Steph and Marcia that they should sit down, and they told their friends about where the boys had gone and how they had been taken. They even told them how the boys had trained with their Mom.
"Oh my God," said Marcia, "You must be beside yourselves with worry."
"We are," said Maggie. "We are just trying to keep busy until they come back, trying to keep our minds off of it."
"That's why we came to pack up now," said Katie.
"Look," said Stephanie, "If there's anything we can do, just ask. You can come stay with me, or we could visit you, and talk your ears off until you get so bored you fall asleep."
That made everyone laugh a bit and Katie said, "That's really nice of you, and we'll consider that if things get really bad. For now, let's just get these boxes moved."
They all carried down a load of boxes and Katie took them through the portal.
"Wow," said Marcia. "That's the easiest way to move I've ever seen," which got some more giggles.
"You know," said Katie, "Since you guys have been so helpful, why don't you come with us and we'll have some dinner and show you around a bit."
"Oh my God," said Marcia, all excited. "That would be too awesome!"
It actually didn't take very long for everything to get moved. Marcia asked about the furniture, and Katie shrugged and told her, "We've gotten everything we want. If there's anything you want, feel free to take it."
Both girls decided on a few things they wanted and they put them in their cars. Then all four went to the Bat Cave. Marcia said, "We can help you move these boxes to where you want them if you'd like."
"That would be great," said Katie. "But let's do that after dinner. I'm starving."
Sam and Dean
After the boys were rested and fed breakfast, the world looked a lot brighter, and they met with Tarsa to get their next assignment. "The next town is Palendor," Tarsa said, "and the family to find is called Filgren. We don't know much about this town, actually. It's been hidden from our watch for many years."
"What if the family is no longer there?" asked Sam.
"We are told that that cannot happen. We have to believe in the prophesies and scriptures," answered Tarsa.
Dean scoffed. "Well if your scriptures are anything like ours, that doesn't fill me with confidence," he said dryly.
Tarsa gave them each a new pouch of gems and gold, as well as a new teleport orb. "Are we going to get new pouches for each journey?" asked Sam.
"Yes," Tarsa answered. "And you may keep whatever you have left from previous trips."
"Good to know," said Dean.
