Lonnie and Ariel walked down the hallway and headed toward the lab where her office was connected and they both walked inside as Ariel sat down on the chair that lonnie had in her office Lonnie was in a small closet like room getting a case as she headed over to her desk.

"So is there any cool new gadget you're working on lately," Ariel asked as she sat down on Lonnie's desk chair.

"Yes actually, since I'm more of the spear or staff kind of fighter I've created these," Lonnie brought out a case where two normal look staff were in.

"So you created staffs... How are they different from any normal staff," Ariel asked as Lonnie took them out as her the crystals started to glow and powered the staff and the blades were glowing purple and blue on each end. "Also why is one shorter then the other?" She added as Lonnie show her up close.

"Well it's because they powers is my necklace and the surges of energy are on each end and blade." Lonnie added as she spun them and got into her fighting position and she threw one at the wall as it immediately came back to her. "One is shorter then other is because... Well I'm not really sure why I went for this design, it seemed like a good idea in my head." Lonnie thought about it.

"Oh wow, so only the great Nightingale can use them right?" Ariel said with a smile making Lonnie smiled too.

"Well if you have magic then yes, look you hold them and tap into your seastone and watch how they change to fit your method of fight and powers." Lonnie said as she was about hand her the staffs. Ariel grabbed them for a moment before they both heard the door knock and they both threw them the nearest cloest to hide them as they both rushed over to her desk and opened her laptop.

"Come in." Lonnie said as they both saw Graves walked in as Ariel immediately got very protective toward Lonnie. "Hey Graves, is something wrong?" Lonnie asked as she was typing into her computer as Ariel looked what she was doing as they talked she saw was not really typing.

"Well, just came to see if you were okay the cameras were deactivated for a moment and I heard what was going on downtown too.. Just thought you were in danger." He said as he waved to Ariel but she gave a half wave.

"Well I was over the the Mcduck manor for a bit talking to him about some personal business, when I heard what was going on," Lonnie said as Ariel was glaring at him making him feel unwelcome behind Lonnie.

"Anyways, I also wanted to speak with you in private about something but I can see you have your time with someone else and you both seem pretty busy, so I'll talk to you about this tomorrow morning, Goodnight Lonnie," he said as he left her office as Ariel happily said goodbye to him.

"Oh boy that was a close one... He usually walks in without knocking when he check on me," Lonnie said as she closed her laptop and went to go get the staffs.

"That's kinda suspicious don't you think?" Ariel asked as she sat on her chair as Lonnie put her staff back in it's case.

"Umm no, he was hired to watch over me and my company, so I don't think it's suspicious, why you don't think he has changed, you just seem so protective when ever his around me," Lonnie asked as she sat across from her as she rested her head on the plam of her hand.

"No, not really, after everything he has done especially after the whole hostage situations at Miss Glamor's IT list party but if you say he has change I guess I can try trusting him." Ariel thought about it before saying it. "But it's going to take a long time though." She added and Lonnie laughed.

"Well thank you, that means alot." Lonnie smiled as she got up. "Okay let's go walk around the building."

"Sure thing, mom... Oh I mean Lonnie," Ariel covered her mouth as Lonnie knelt down to her eye level.

"Ariel, you do know I don't mind that you call me mom right, if it make you more comfortable then don't be embarrassed to call me that," Lonnie said with a small smile as it made Ariel smiled as they went on the walk around as they both stopped at the front entrance of the building.

"Sorry it's just I look up to you alot, you care about me like I'm your daughter, so it's just.." Ariel was interrupt by Lonnie hugging her.

"Ariel, you do know that love and care about you more then you know. You really are like a daughter to me... Which is why I constantly get worried when you help me and your father on our mission to be heros and stopping the bad guys, but just know that I love you," Lonnie finished as Ariel hugged her back tightly.

"I love you too," Ariel replied as they both headed back to Lonnie's home to go get some rest for the night.
