Dream SMP oneshots

Letting go//Jschlatt//4// Part 1?

Hello!!!
Before y'all start reading I would like to give some trigger warnings!
In this (possible) two part oneshot there will be mentions of death, alcohol abuse and contains lots of angst,
This oneshot touches on topics that not only have I gone through but know that possibly others have as well.

[3rd person POV]
"Schlatt!!" Y/N runs to see Schlatt slumped over against a wall in the drug caravan with a empty bottle of beer in his hand, now powerless and and alone a mere shadow of who he was only a few months ago. He had lost the support of everyone who once stood by his side while he was the president of L'manburg even his long time partner Y/N.

Schlatt looks up and starts laughing "Y/N, I knew you'd come back to me!" He sloppily opens another beer bottle and takes a sip of it before throwing an empty bottle towards the direction of Y/N, who ducks to avoid getting hit.

The two used to be a happy couple before he became president, Schlatt was very caring and would always make sure Y/N was happy and safe.

But something happened after Schlatt gained power, he started becoming more aggressive with his peers, drinking heavily, and neglecting his relationships with friends, worst of all started ignoring Y/N and letting his anger out on them.

A few days before the Pogtopia VS. Manburg war Y/N had finally reached their breaking point, after months of trying to stay strong and attempting multiple times to fix their relationship with Schlatt, Y/N packed their valuables and armor, deciding to join Pogtopia.

When Y/N found Schlatt there they knew he was a bad person but they couldn't stop themselves from feeling bad for him.

(Y/N POV)
Schlatt pushed me away still groaning with pain.
"Stop it, I don't need your help! Just leave me alone!" He mumbled.

"Schlatt, please stop drinking!" I say as I remove the empty beer bottles around him.
"Give up this façade of the bad guy! Look at where that lead you to!"

"Y/N I said leave me alone! I am done for!" Schlatt was visibly weak but after looking closely, I noticed tears falling from his eyes.

The door swings open to Pogtopia and many people standing at the other side, quickly calming down as they watched the conversation between   Y/N and Schlatt.

At this point, I didn't care who was watching but I continued,
"Please don't say that. We just want you to give up power over Manburg, you can recover and you'll be back to how you were before all this mess."

I realized I had been crying as well, as much as I hated him and all of the things he made me go through I knew I still loved the man who was underneath all of that.

Schlatt looks up at me
"Things will never go back to being 'normal', I will never be able to just go back to living a simple life! I can never regain all the friends that I pushed away and treated like shit! Worst of all I will never be able to forgive myself for what I did to you!"

"Schlatt-" I tried to stop him but I was interrupted by him.

"You have been the most important person to me and I threw it all away for some stupid country! We will never be able to have the family we so desperately wanted. I treated you like shit and you have no idea how sorry I am!" Schlatt was shaking and crying trying his best to stay calm.

"Schlatt, I know I know just please hang on! This isn't the end of your story!" Schlatt began to cough a lot, I knew it was inevitable but I was not ready for him to go so fast.

I held him close to me, sobbing trying to assure him everything was going to be okay. I knew it wasn't going to be. Our peers not knowing what to do but stand from afar and whisper amongst each other but to me all that mattered to me at the moment was Schlatt.

"Y- Y/N, please forgive me." Schlatt's voice was low and hoarse.

"There are a lot of things I would like to apologize for and a shit ton of things I would do differently but please promise me one thing..."

He reaches into his suit pocket and pulls out a small green box, placing it between my hands.

"Promise me to never change, live a simple life and don't let this stop you from starting a family or completing any of your goals. I love you."

"Schlatt please just hang in there please don't leave me!! I LOVE YOU TO MUCH TO LOSE YOU LIKE THIS!!" I was hysterical, sobbing into him struggling to stay calm.

Schlatt begins to start coughing violently again and just as quickly as it had started, the man I had grown to love was gone, Lifeless in my arms only a mere shell that once held the soul that meant the world to me.

(third person POV)
The scream that Y/N let out was unlike anything anyone had ever heard, they has lost their love all to the obsession over power. Their friends and father, Philza, had to forcibly pry them away from his body. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the only loss they would have that day...

{The events after Jschlatt's death are all cannon.}

I have been going back and forth between different variations of this oneshot for a very long time and I am proud of how this one came out, I really hope you all enjoyed this oneshot!! If you would like me to actually write a part 2 to this story I definitely will!!
I have been having a lot of motivation to write oneshots and I hope to be able to use this motivation to publish and work on many more chapters!!
