During the car ride, you managed to get in touch with the landlord who promised to wait outside the building at your arrival. He seemed quite adamant on meeting you so you hoped he’d be kind enough to lower the rent you proposed.

“Oh, are you… Sora?” a young man stepped forward as you exited the car.

You half nodded, still trying to remove your luggage from the trunk of the cab. Thankfully, the man was kind enough to help you out and once you gathered your things, you finally took a good look at the person in front of you.

“You're the landlord?” you frowned looking at him from head to toe.

He was young, looked straight out of high school and adorned a sleeve of tattoos. He had a very prominent eyebrows, big doe eyes that you can't resist, and a little scar on his left cheek. He looked adorable.

He waved his hand and began wheeling your suitcase into the building.

“My family owns the building and I normally take care of new tenants when they are busy. I'm Jungkook by the way.” He held out his hand and you shook it, smiling.

He was undoubtedly the nicest person you've met in Seoul thus far, so hopefully things were only going up from here.

He brought you into a decent-sized elevator and took you up to the 12th floor, leading you down to a room reading #1802.

“I’ll just get the keycode.” Jungkook said, fiddling with a notebook and flipped through the pages erratically. You watched him quietly finding the code and after he accessed the door, he gestured for you to walk in first.

“Wow!” You marvelled at the decent-sized apartment that was decorated modernly yet still embraced a very homey feeling.

The living area was bright and cozy with two orange sofas laid against the pastel-coloured walls, an oval rug with swirly patterns sat in the middle of the room with a small coffee table on top of it. There was also a full TV set and its consoles, and you could see yourself lounging carelessly while watching your favourite variety shows.

To the left, there was a full small kitchen, one bathroom, and that one bedroom that was open had beautiful high-arched windows that overlooked the park across the street.

It was perfect.

“Is there a reason the other bedroom is locked?”

You quizzed noticing that the advertisement did not state that there was anyone else living in this apartment and judging by how clean it was, it clearly didn't look like it.

Jungkook, who was leaning against the kitchen island, just shrugged as he scrolled through his phone.

“You can ask my uncle for a key but I think he locked it for renovations.”

You nodded and continued exploring the apartment until you finally made up your mind that this would be your temporary home away from home.

“Okay, I love it. Would it be okay to move in as soon as possible?”

You approached Jungkook, whose eyes widened as if he expected you to sleep on such a big decision before paying a deposit.

“Uh really? That's great! Well, uhm... you can pay the deposit to me now and move in right away!”

Jungkook then opened his Naver bank app and handed it over to you. The price hurt to look at but a deposit meant it was yours instantly and you needed that type of security.

“Done.” You signed off your name and handed his phone back to him.

Jungkook grinned from ear to ear and hurriedly brought in your luggage before writing down the door code and wifi password on a piece of post-it paper.

“My uncle will text you the information on your rent and utilities. Hope you enjoy your stay here!”

The boy pushed the post-it note into your hands and with that, he disappeared down the hallway leaving you to your first Seoul apartment.

You took one last stroll around the apartment and you found it weird how there were food items in the closet and items stored in the bathroom. You had no idea how showrooms worked but maybe people in Seoul paid closer attention to detail and wanted to create a more ‘lived in’ tour?

Maybe.

Either way you didnt care, you finally had a place and lived close to Jimin, all you needed was a set job, and your life in Seoul would be complete.

After realizing the long day you had, you decided to retire to bed, hoping to catch up on sleep and will hopefully be fresh and ready to tackle the job market tomorrow.
