Turning your phone over, you noticed that it was your dear boyfriend who was yet to meet you in person since the day you had arrived.
Jimin knew that you had an apartment now, you hadn't mentioned you were sharing with a man for obvious reasons. He knew that you took up a part-time job at a cafe somewhere in Hapjeong. You were doing pretty well for yourself but you couldn't help but wonder why it seemed even harder to see your boyfriend these days despite the long distance now being non-existent.
“Hey…. Oh am I disturbing you?” Jimin laughed as he noticed your mouth was filled with food.
You shook your head and finished the piece of pizza before making your way to the kitchen for a glass of water, “I was just eating dinner, have you eaten yet?” you asked sweetly as you washed down with a glass of water and headed back to your bedroom.
Hoseok turned back and watched you return to your bedroom, hearing a strange man’s voice resonating from the call. He never heard you speak to anyone but your family, which you would use mainly Gwangju dialect with them but the way you spoke to this person was different.
Hoseok jumped to his feet and headed to the bathroom to get a few tissues to clean the table but he couldn't help but wonder who you were in a rush to talk to. Your door was left slightly ajar and thankfully since the bathroom was situated right next door, it was easy for Hoseok to listen in on your conversation.
“I miss you, when can we finally see each other?” He heard you groan and there was a long pause from the other person before they finally sighed.
“You know I'm busy honey, this year is really tough on me...”
Hoseok scoffed at the insincerity in the stranger's voice.
“You’re telling me you can't give me a few hours, Jimin? You can't give your girlfriend just a few hours of your time? I came here for you...” your voice was strained as if you were preventing yourself from shouting at him or starting to cry.
Hoseok’s chest felt tight upon hearing that you were in a relationship. He had no idea why but he felt disappointed. It’s not that either of you had shown interest in each other but not only did he now have to keep a more professional manner around you, he was afraid that the small friendship the two of you had garnered through fights was never going to develop into anything more.
“Listen, I'll make some time, maybe next week we can go to Namsan.”
Hoseok heard you squeal with excitement and had the unfortunate experience of you and Jimin saying 'I love you' to each other before you cut the call and he heard you approach the door.
“Oh God, you scared me!” you playfully shoved him like you always did but Hoseok, still feeling uncomfortable just moved out of the way, “Sorry I was just getting tissues....” he murmured and slowly made his way back to the living room.
You wondered what had gotten into him as he had been acting strange for the past hour and you thought it would be best to ignore it. You were not here to befriend a man, especially when your boyfriend didn't even know about him.
Out of sight, out of mind.

The day of hanging out with Jimin had finally arrived and usually you would wait for him to confirm the meeting spot but you wondered if it had slipped his mind. You were used to Jimin being forgetful, and texting him constantly while he was studying would only upset him.
You picked out one of your favourite outfits and gave yourself a spritz of the perfume Jimin had bought you for your birthday and headed for the door.
It was a warm spring afternoon and unlike the last time you were at his dormitories, there were barely any people loitering around. You remembered from a few video calls from Jimin where he gave you a full tour of the dormitories and even showed you the quickest route to his apartment. You’re pretty sure he thought nothing of it back then but right now his tour was coming in handy.
You walked up the concrete steps and noticed the familiar pathway and headed for the door at the very end. You felt your chest flutter, knowing you were going to see him in hopefully a better situation than last time.
You knocked on the door and took a step back, hoping your arrival won't cause him too much trouble. The door finally swung open and you were face to face with one of Jimin’s friends.
“Hi Sora!”
His deep voice greeted while a friendly but wary smile spread across his face. Taehyung scratched his head as you welcomed yourself into their apartment sensing that something was not quite... right.
“Oh Sora, it’s nice to see you again!”
Yoongi, a friend Jimin had brought once to Gwangju to meet you, greeted. He was sitting on the couch with a much taller man who was most likely Namjoon. You weren't too familiar with Namjoon but Jimin always expressed how much he admired his intelligence.
The boys looked uneasy at your arrival and neither of them directed you to where Jimin might be. The unsettling feeling only grew once you noticed a pair of heels left in the hallway and one of the bedroom doors was closed. You began turning towards the hallway, but Taehyung was trying to grab ahold of your hand, only to make you more flustered as to what you were about to walk into.
Your absolute worst nightmare.
Your boyfriend was in bed with another woman.
Jimin’s eyes widened when he noticed you standing in his doorway and quickly pulled up his boxers in panic. The woman barely budged, sitting on the bed in just her underwear. She frowned between you and Jimin.
“Babe, who is this?” she questioned, the nickname felt like a dagger through your chest.
“I’m... I’m his-”
“She’s a friend!” Jimin cut you off and you were astounded at the fact that he would lie in front of you like that.
"W-What?!?!"
