“Would it kill you to clean the sink after you’ve used the toothpaste?”
You groaned looking at the state of the bathroom just as Hoseok had exited.
It had been two weeks since you had moved in, and Hoseok and you both had gotten into the most petty fights concerning each other's habits. He hated how you reorganized the bathroom because he couldn't find what he needed especially when he was rushing to work in the morning. You hated how he left his dishes in the sink straight after cooking until you had no choice but to wash them yourself.
“Geez quit acting like my mom...” Hoseok sat at the kitchen island as he sipped on an apple juice box and scrolled through his social media.
You huffed finally emerging from the now spotless bathroom and met him in the kitchen. Hoseok shot you an innocent smile as you rolled your eyes and folded your arms across your chest.
“What do you want?”
“Let’s go half and half on dinner tonight?” He offered, holding up his phone to show you a new pizza flavour and its side meals that was advertised for sharing.
“Looks good” you hummed leaning over the counter, “but you always hog the chicken wings like you did the last time!”
“When did I ever do that?!” Hoseok protested.
“We literally bought that shared box a couple of nights ago and out of the ten chicken wings you ate seven of them, Hoseok.” He narrowed his eyes at your words and it made you laugh unexpectedly, finally giving in, “Fine, let's order it, I'm not in the mood to cook anyway.”
Hoseok excitedly called the delivery service while you moved to the living room and sat in front of the TV, flipping through Netflix hoping to watch something interesting.
Hoseok jumped in the seat next to you and grabbed the remote out of your hands despite your protests.
“Hey!” you shoved him, “I'm going to watch a movie.”
Hoseok scoffed and continued flipping through the titles before raising his eyebrow at you, “but you’re going to pick some lame romantic movie and I want to watch Spiderman,” he said while avoiding another lunge of your hand trying to grab the remote.
“Actually, I wanted to watch The Conjuring, so give it back!”
You finally got hold of the remote and jumped on the opposite couch so it was out of his reach.
“A h-horror movie?” Hoseok asked in a small voice and you noticed his demeanor quickly changed.
“Yeah, you're not scared, are you?” you challenged, still noticing how the usual loud man was now nervously shaking his leg and unconsciously biting his nail.
Hoseok laughed nervously and cleared his throat, “I'm not scared, it's just a movie,” which sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than he was trying to convince you.
Cocking your head, you slowly jumped off the couch and returned to the seat next to him.
“We don't have to watch it if you don't want to.”
You assured him, still amused that he had such a soft side to him. Hoseok shook his head, not allowing you to gain the upperhand and clicked play on the remote. You shrugged and grabbed your blanket throwing it over your legs as the movie began to play.
Twenty minutes. You couldn't help but watch Hoseok practically suffer through it. His eyes never left the screen but every time there was a jump scare, he would flinch and clear his throat.
The movie started becoming quite intense to the point now both of you were on the edge, when the ringing of your doorbell practically had you and Hoseok scream and grab onto each other for dear life.
“It's... It's probably the delivery.”
You coughed, trying to catch your breath after that adrenaline rush.
Hoseok realised he still had a grip on your arm and quickly released you to answer the door. He had no idea if his heart was racing from the movie or the sudden closeness of the two of you, but he needed to move away before you caught a glimpse of his obvious reddened face.
“28,000 won please, Sir.”
The delivery man said and Hoseok scratched his head and turned back to you.
“Hey, I’ll just pay with my card.” He said before paying off the meal and brought the containers to the coffee table.
You inhaled the sweet aroma and quickly unpacked the various takeaway boxes.
“How much do I owe you?”
You bit into a slice of pizza, savouring the flavour. Hoseok took a seat opposite you and handed you a cup of cola.
“It's fine. It's on me.” He replied which only made you curious as to what his intentions were.
“You're not letting me pay so you can be mean about it later, is that it?” you pouted and Hoseok laughed loudly, “I do something nice now you think it's all part of my master scheme?”
“Why wouldn't it be?” You retorted, your mouth still filled with pizza.
“You’re so annoying.” Hoseok rolled his eyes playfully before digging into his own meal.
The two of you ate in silence before you heard your ringtone blare from your bedroom and you rushed over to see who it was.
