Remember when I said that first love is a wound? It may have seemed funny at the time, but it certainly is not humourous. However which you love someone else, but your heart will always have a little corner which belongs to your first love. James Potter was one special case.
He convinced himself that he did like Yui Tsuki, but he also loved Lily Evans. Basically, the larger part of his heart belonged to Lily, and Yui owned a cozy little corner, just enough for her survival in his life.
And, what was wrong with Yui anyway? She was a kind, smart, petite Japanese Ravenclaw with dark ebony hair and always had a touch of gold eyeliner to her dark brown eyes. She had a gorgeous smile, soft skin and was an amazing kisser, passionate too. What bothered James was that none of his friends seemed happy about him dating Yui.
"You seriously like Tsuki?" Sirius asked James during Charms.
"Yes," said James firmly. "Yui is amazing and I'm happy with her."
"Or so you think," sighed Emmeline.
Talk about the devil--or angel, whatever, Yui Tsuki appeared behind them, gorgeous smile on her face and she leaned down, kissing James's cheek while her fingers ghosted over his right shoulder. James shivered slightly.
"Miss Tsuki, any problems?" Professor Flitwick asked good-naturedly. Yui was one of his favourite students.
"Absolutely not, Professor," Yui said in her accented English. "Just came here to borrow notes about yesterday's class. I was in the Hospital Wing with Tanya yesterday."
"Ah." The professor nodded. "How is Miss Brown doing?"
"Good, very good," Yui assured him and went back to talking to the Marauders and co.
"Hey, Tsuki, why don't you leave?" Sirius said rather rudely. "Private talk, see. You can eye-fuck Prongs later, be gone lady!"
Yui blinked, while James gaped like a gold fish. At last, Yui decided that he was joking and withdrew from the scene, leaving the snickering friends alone.
"Paddy!" James exclaimed. "That was so--impolite!"
"Since when are Marauders polite?" Dorcas demanded. As James could find no answer for that, Dorcas considered herself as a winner and hi-fived Sirius, then kissed Emmeline's cheek happily.
"Man, that's sappy as hell," complained Kate.
"Talk about Kadora!" Alice whispered to Sirius. Both smirked.
I like Yui, James convinced himself.
You love Lily, his heart told him.
Yui's the practical choice, she likes him back, his brain argued.
Love is not practical! His heart sounded offended.
Can we please shut up? James thought, tired of this arguement.

"Are you serious?" Mary whispered to Marlene, horrified.
"He's a guy but fuck yeah, I am," Marlene told her.
"The nerve of these girls!" Mary hissed.
"Says the one who slept even while they were giggling like harpies," Marlene said, with strong emphasis on her last words.
"Circe's holy smile, woman." Mary rolled her eyes. "I spent three hours on that project, of course I had to sleep!"
"I'm impressed." Marlene's tone was as dry as sandpaper. "I spent five hours and still listening to those bitches giggle about Sirius's hair and James's eyes."
"James's eyes are understandable." Mary nodded. "But Sirius's hair is something I'll never understand. It's smooth, long and ebony but James's is way softer, remember when Lily gushed about it for three days last summer?"
"Oh Circe, yes." Marlene laughed. "She was insufferable!"
"And I swear to Circe, James was blushing like a fucking tomato," Mary giggled.
"Nah. Like Lily's hair," Marlene argued.
"Her hair is copper red," Mary said with a frown.
"Nope. It's auburn!" Marlene exclaimed.
"It's cherry, actually." Marlene and Mary jumped as Lily stepped inside the Adhara Cottage, sniggering.
"You were talking about Emile and Clara, then James's eyes and Sirius's hair, followed by me gushing and then my hair color? What the absolute fuck?" Lily smiled, amused. The girl was amused.
"We excel at going off topic," Mary groaned.
"That's an art, young lady!" Marlene gasped dramatically.
"Shut up." Mary chucked a cushion at her.
"Tellest thou not thine best friend to shut up," Lily said with a sage-like nod.
"Shut up!" Marlene and Mary snapped together. "Elizabethan English is the worst!"
"That's really creepy, you know," Lily commented.
"WE SAID SHUT UP!" Two cushions came flying at Lily, who ducked just in time to avoid them.
So, on that lovely winter evening, three figures were spotted running across the snow in a rather funny game of tag. The sunset light shone in their hair, their lithe shadows danced across the snow and their happy laughes echoed off the valley, because they were Lily Jasmine Evans, Marlene Ashley McKinnon and Mary Christine MacDonald, the example for how friendships should be, or how sisters should be.

"Three weeks!" Alice gawked at Isadora. "Three weeks you've been dating Jerome DesMarais and you did hot have the good grace to tell us that? And the bastard just cheated on you with Shelia Urquart of all people?"
At least Isadora could still feel guilty. "It wasn't dating. More like we were just skirting around each other."
"He's a total bastard," James said with distaste.
"At least he had the shane to not show up for dinner." Dorcas sneered at the Ravenclaw table.
"He did not show up because he's in the hospital wing." The sixth years directed their blank stares towards Regulus Black, who was sitting beside his elder brother and talking to him about quidditch. "I saw him there," Regulus stated simply. "I heard that Madison-Williams hexed him. Shriveled up his arse, she did! The girl's a true Gryffindor!"
Peter Pettigrew made a inhumane noise at this, somewhere between a squeak and a gasp. Sirius dropped his fork, as if he simply could not eat anymore and James winced in sympathy.
"Oh well, I ain't warming up to him." Dorcas shared a smirk with Emmeline. "The bastard deserves it. We'll make some few--ah, additional touches, right Mel?"
"Totally." Emmeline flashed an evil smile.
James shuddered. The last time Dorcas had added "additional touches" it was when Sirius commented that Emmeline had weird eyes, it was joke, obviously, but Dorcas could get pretty nasty when she used her hands.
While they joked, laughed and teased, Isadora fiddled with the napkin on her lap and thought, So she still cares about me. Seems like there was some hope for her at least.
