"Em."
"Mel."
"Emmy."
Emmeline opened a sparkling blue eye and stared at Kate. She blinked slowly, like a lizard. (Oh dear, look at how Dorcas is glaring at me for that comparison. Sorry!)
"What?" Emmeline grunted, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"Izzy's not here!" Kate whisper-shouted.
"Yeah? Check the fucking bathroom," said Emmeline not-so-helpfully.
"I did!" Kate hissed back.
"Maybe she's out for a midnight snack or something, weird girl." Emmeline crashed back on her bed and sighed blissfully, drifting back into sleep once again.
Kate stood up and let out a frustated breath. She grabbed her robes and wore them over her lavender pajamas, then proceeded to walk out of the dormitory and into the boys' one.
"AHHHHH! A GHOST!" Peter Pettigrew yelled in pure, unadulterated terror as Kate kicked open James's trunk.
"What the fuck, Pete?" growled James, sitting up and glaring at the tiny Gryffindor, then back at Kate. "That's very rude of you!"
"Yes, sorry, now to go to sleep, please and thank you," Kate said with excessive politeness. "And may I ask where is that map of yours?"
"Which map of ours?" James said, eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"The creepy map! Don't play the innocent card with me! I wanna find Izzy!" Kate jabbed a finger in his chest.
James took out something from his drawer and went inside the bathroom, then came out after five minutes and said, "Isadora's at the astronomy tower. From what I see, its a bad weather to be outside." He glanced outside at the falling snow.
Snow in the last days of February! Scandalous!
"Thank you, and now your sorry ass can sleep. Please and thank you." Kate bowed dramatically and walked out, but not before grabbing Sirius's heavy leather jacket.
"Yes, no problem. My pleasure and I was literally gonna wake up in three hours," grumbled James, pulling the hangings around his bed.
Kate walked towards the astronomy tower, frowning. It was weird to be out in this weather. Not that the snow was falling heavily, but still, it was cold. She climbed the steps to the tower and pushed the door open.
Isadora was sitting at the edge of the tower, legs dangling below. She was wearing a furry navy blue cloak and was staring at the sky.
"Erm..Iz?" Kate called out, nervously staring around her at the large and open space. Coma.
"Kate?" Isadora looked towards her and blinked.
"Weird weather to be out," commented Kate, taking a seat beside Isadora.
"Can say the same about you," Isadora said with a raise of her eyebrows.
"Feeling novalunosis or something?" Kate chuckled after a while as she watched Isadora staring at the sky.
"More like wundervei," laughed Isadora, wrapping an arm around Kate's shoulders. The metamorphmagus rested her head on Isadora's shoulder and sighed.
"Kate?" Isadora said after some time.
"Mhm," hummed Kate.
"Did you really like me? As in like like me?"
Kate bit her lip, and closed her eyes for a brief moment then opened them and sighed. "Did? I do like you, still."
"Why didn't you ever tell me then?" Isadora asked with genuine curiosity.
Kate nervously played with her hair. "I guess because you liked James? I mean, I thought you'd feel...betrayed. I was supposed to be your friend, one who stands beside you everytime, but nothing more. I wasn't supposed to be a lover."
"But what if I give you permission to be something more? Something more than a friend? Something like a lover?" Isadora was slowly leaning down, her eyes flickering shut.
"Yeah? I'd probably grab the opportunity." Kate grinned and laced her fingers in Isadora's hair, bringing her lips to hers.
So if you asked them how they got together, they would say that on a lovely snowy night in late February, after confessions and laughs, there was a kiss and Kadora turned a reality.
And if you asked me what happened on that lovely snowy night in late February, I will say that two people, considered to be polar opposites, finally got together and proved that two people most unexpected to fall in love can fall in love, because love has it ways.

"Ahh...Lils, look, I seem to have found something very cute," Mary giggled.
Lily turned to her and raised her eyebrows curiously. Mary looked over at her and smirked, then shoved a photo in her face. Lily looked at it and nearly (key word being nearly) dropped her glass of water. She saved it by keeping it on her nightstand then blushed while staring at the photo.
It was sometime in the summer of 1975 and she and James were dancing in the rain. Both were laughing and their hands were joined together.
"Aww," Marlene cooed, staring over Lily's shoulder. "Ain't this cute!"
"Jily for life," laughed Mary.
"Its Lames!" argued Marlene.
"Jily!"
"Lames!"
"Jily."
"Lames."
"Its nothing!" Lily snorted. "We aren't even together and you guys are coming up with ship names!"
"We believe in keeping ready for the future," Marlene said with a sage-like nod.
"Oh yeah, a future which is never gonna happen." Lily rolled her eyes.
"Who knows?" Mary shrugged. "Maybe it'll come true. Maybe not. We're hoping for Jily though!"
"I said, its Lames!" shouted Marlene.
"Nope. I refuse to agree," Mary said, pointing her nose in the air with a smirk.
"Yeah? Well then fuck you," Marlene said, not meaning any if it. (Yup, that's her.)
"Fuck off, please and thank you," Mary said sassily.
Between their playful banter, they did not see Lily slip the photo in her trunk where it was to be discovered some day, soon.
