Wilbur POV.

My head lay on my desk as my English teacher friend on about our project that was due tomorrow. Which just so happened to be the day before break. Thank god, almost halfway there. I shifted my head a bit so I could see the clock better, one more minute and I was gone.

The overhead speakers blared the ringing sound that signaled it was the end of the day. I grabbed my bag and speed walked out the door, eager to go home. I scanned the halls of the school of Niki and I couldn't see her.

Sighing, I walked out the back door of the school and into the back parking lot to see her standing by her car, phone in hand.

"I texted you a while ago." She said quietly as she tucked a strand of her pastel pink hair behind her ear. "Must've not seen it, sorry," I responded getting into her car.

"By the way, I told my girlfriend that I'd pick her up from school today." Niki said. "That's okay Niki. How'd your date go by the way? Sorry I forgot to ask earlier just been a bit scatter brained at the moment." I replied. She nodded her head in response. "It went great."

We sat in traffic on the way to the other side of town talking to pass the time. "Have you sent in any applications yet?" Niki asked me. I sighed. "I can't send anything in without my dad breathing down my neck. It's not like he's the one going to college, but I did apply to ones several states away, I don't want to be anywhere near here after I leave, and I don't want to come back."

"Wil, you're going to have to talk to your dad about this sooner or later. Have you talked to your mom about it?" She stopped the car at another red light and looked at me with saddened eyes. I shook my head, "she hasn't been home lately. Her and dad haven't talked all too much about it either, I think their getting divorced." Niki went silent. "I mean that's only and assumption I think. If they do I hope she gets custody of Tommy. I couldn't give a shit about Techno, I've hated him for years and ever since dad brought him home from that fucking orphanage he's been his favorite, not giving a fuck about his real sons."

I turned to face the window, trying to hide my shame and anger in the reflective glass. The light turned green and we started moving again. The car was silent for he rest of the ride there.

Niki pulled into and all to familiar school and stopped the car. A girl with platinum blonde hair with rainbow streaks at the ends got in. "Hi." She said, "I'm Puffy, you're Wilbur right?" I nodded. She seemed familiar but I couldn't just put my finger on it.

"So what about you? What do you do?" She asked. "What? Me?" I replied. "Yeah." "I don't know, I play guitar I guess." "That all?" "Yeah." She looked at me skeptically but shrugged and slid back in her seat.

Puffy and Niki talked for the remainder of the ride back to my house cause I didn't want to u trust any more than I already was.

My mind drifted, starting to think about what might actually happen if my parents get divorced. If they do I'll just be going to college, Technos older and is on his way out of the house too. All I have to worry about is Tommy, and I really hope mom gets custody of him.

Tommy and dad never had the best relationship with each other, Tommy always and complaining to me about not being heard or seen whenever he couldn't talk to mom. When Tommy was twelve he had a freak out after we all neglected him for a month or so, completely on accident too. That's right after mom had started taking meetings away. So she was gone. Tommy was mad at everyone, his safety net was gone, he couldn't go to Tubbo's because his parents were always fighting. So he just screamed at all of us while he cried. I remember Dad not doing much about it but giving a half assed apology, giving him a quick hug and moving on with the rest of his day.

When mom found out she was pissed. She walked right through the door to be greeted by a Tommy with tear stained cheeks, telling her what had happened. That's the first big fight I've ever seen my parents get into. Mom went off about telling Dad that he couldn't just neglect s child like that, Dad just didn't understand. I got a talking to afterwords about how I should care more for him. And I don't think she even said anything to Techno.

"We're at your house Wil." Niki said as she put the car in park. "Bye Niki, bye Puffy." I gave the couple a small wave and got out of the vehicle. I walked into the house to see everyone standing in the kitchen.

Techno was emotionless as always, Dad looked guilty. Tommy had tear running down his face as he vigorously wiped them off, but they still kept coming. And mom was there, looking even more guilty than before.

"Wil," mom said as she pulled a chair out from the table, "you're going to want to sit down for this. Your father and I have got some news to tell you."
