The Chronicles of the Black Flower [HeiHua]

黑花: Green Peppers

Notes:
1. These are short fics based on the Lost Tomb: Ultimate Note's version of Hei XiaZi (actor: Liu YuNing) and Xie YuChen (actor: Liu YuHan). Characters might seem a little ooc if you picture other versions of HeiHua here.
2. These characters are not as well-known internationally but I love them to bits! Anyway, these are just written for fun for a friend so please just enjoy them with an open mind.
3. Do give Ultimate Note a chance and watch it if you can. It's really different from the other Lost Tomb series (even the best in my humble opinion).
4. Hei XiaZi / Hei YanJing / Hei Ye is the same person.
5. Xie YuChen / Xie YuHua / Xiao Hua / Hua Er Ye is the same person.
6. Timeline for these stories are not in chronological order.

"I thought boss dislikes green peppers?" 

"Yeap." 

"How come he's eating them now?" 

"What's he eating?" 

"Fried rice with green pepper and meat." 

"Ah well. That... You must be new here." 

"Yea, I just started last month." 

The two security guards continued whispering outside the door of the private room where Xiao Hua was having his lunch. 

Xiao Hua poked at the fried rice a little before taking a bite. 

He hated green peppers. Well, still does. Although he discovered that he has grown a wee more tolerant to the taste of those nasty little green peppers recently. 

Xia Zi is always eating that stuff around him. He doesn't force Xiao Hua to eat the peppers or anything. He is even thoughtful enough to remember to order food without green peppers for Xiao Hua. 

In the event that he did forget, he went through the trouble of picking out all the peppers before letting Xiao Hua eat the food. 

So if that's the case, why is Xiao Hua more tolerant to green peppers now one might ask. 

Well, it has something to do with a certain someone who was always eating those green pepper fried rice and then force kissing Xiao Hua after that. 

Xiao Hua hated it. 

But more than anything, he hated the fact that he sometimes starts missing the taste of green peppers when his annoying lover is away on long missions. 

Xiao Hua jabbed at one of the green pepper pieces with his fork before taking another bite of the fried rice grudgingly. 

"It's been one and a half month. That blind bastard better be back by tomorrow or I'll really throw all his stuff out," Xiao Hua thought to himself as he finished the last of his fried rice. 

As Xiao Hua was getting ready to leave, his phone started ringing.He accepted the call hastily but before the other party could even say a word, Xiao Hua was already lashing out at the person on the other end of the line. 

"You bastard. You couldn't send one freaking message to tell me you're alive? What's the point of calling me now?" 

"Xiao Hua ~~~" 

Xiao Hua couldn't see Xia Zi's face but he didn't have to in order to know that Xia Zi must be grinning like a fool. 

"Hua Er ~" Xia Zi tried again but Xiao Hua remained mute.

"Don't be angry alright? It wasn't my fault! There wasn't any signal in that remote area. You can't blame me for that!"

Xiao Hua didn't answer so Xia Zi continued trying. "Have you taken your lunch? It's past lunch time." 

"Yea," Xiao Hua answered coldly. 

"What did you eat?"

"Fried rice." 

"With green peppers?" 

"No. You know I hate that stuff," Xiao Hua lied. He wasn't going to let Xia Zi know that he had missed him so much that he had resorted to eating green peppers. That blind idiot would gloat to no end if he knew. 

"Yea, I know," Xia Zi chuckled then added, "I'll be home tonight. Let's have dinner together, alright?" 

"Send me your location. I'll send someone to pick you up." 

"Can't Xie Laoban pick me up instead? A pitiful person like me needs some love and attention." 

"I'm hanging up." 

"Alright alright. I was just joking. But seriously, a pitiful person like me needs -"Xia Zi heard a click and the call was disconnected. He only grinned widely as he typed away on his phone. 

Xiao Hua got up and was on his way out from the restaurant when his phone vibrated. He opened the notification and saw the location that Xia Zi had sent him. Complete with a flying kiss emoji. 

Xiao Hua smiled as he got into his car. He replied Xia Zi without any texts. Only three simple emojis. 

On the other end, Xia Zi opened up Xiao Hua's message and there was only the emoji of the flying kiss in between a gun and a knife.

Xia Zi only chuckled silently as he continued spamming Xiao Hua with more flying kiss emojis.
