"Finally!" Amelia's dad joked with an exasperated tone. Amelia laughed.
"Did I really take that long?" She asked. Her father smiled.
"Come on, you too jokers, don't you want to go to the park?" Amelia's mom put their endless line of jokes on hold. Amelia bent down and clipped a lead on Duncan's brown leather collar.
"Come on, let's go, Duncan!" Amelia called as Duncan ran right out of the door. He tugged playfully on the lead, urging Amelia to keep walking. Laughing, Amelia and her parents walked to the nearby park. Duncan was even more curious outside the house. He stopped to smell practically everything on his way. But Amelia and her parents waited patiently for him, they wanted him to get used to his new environment.
"My arms are going to fall off..." Amelia's dad groaned. He had been holding the picnic basket the whole time.
"Let me help you, dear." Amelia's mom offered sweetly. Amelia's dad smiled and refused her offer.
"It's okay, honey, I was just joking around..." He replied.
