"Duncan...Here, boy..." Amelia called up as she quickly pulled herself up. However, the puppy couldn't hear her. He was out of sight. Amelia ran back to her parents panicking.
"Ok, slow down, what happened?" Amelia's mom asked after Amelia had let loose a list of words about what occurred very swiftly. Amelia took a deep breath, and tried to repeat it slowly. Dad's eyes grew wide.
"Come on! Let's go find him!" Amelia snapped her parents out of their shock. Soon, they went looking for Duncan, leaving the picnic basket on top of the picnic mat.
"Duncan..." Amelia called breathlessly. She and her parents had been looking for Duncan for almost an hour! But Duncan was nowhere to be seen. With a heavy heart, Amelia trudged back to the picnic mat.
"How about you eat something?" Amelia's mom asked. Amelia was staring into space. A tear or two trickled down on each of her eyes. Amelia nodded. She haven't realized it, but her stomach has been quietly growling the whole time. As Amelia nibbled on her sandwich, a brilliant idea came up in her head.
