"James?" August opened the door. She then approached James on his bed. His eyes looked sad. He pressed his fingers on the bedsheet. Closing his eyes as August kissed his cheek.

"What happened is everything alright?"  James shrugged his shoulders. He wasn't smiling when he saw August like he always had.

"No, I'm not Betty died earlier."

"I knew you would meet each other again." August fought herself from crying. All these years? It was hard for her to be a mother to her only daughter. They grew older and time made her feel an ache in her. It was like when the hard rain crashed down hard.

"I moved on and seeing her gave me peace. I know you aren't happy about it August." He then took the cardigan and passed it on to her.

"That was the last gift I gave her years ago. Before you met me. It kills me deeply when I remember what happened." James sighed. He hugged August. He aged like fine wine. He became a better person when he met August. Marrying August was the best decision he ever made.

"This was her favorite cardigan... She wore it happily until her last hour. "

"You changed me, James. I'm so sorry for ruining your relationship with her. I'm afraid we can't turn back time." August leaned down her head onto Jame's shoulder.

"Don't blame yourself August! You are an amazing wife and a beautiful mother." James turned his body towards August and kissed her. His eyes looked at her like he always did.

He finally had a sense of peace in his heart and let go of his past with Betty.
