also idk why but im going to point this out since I've been seeing it A LOT. when people interact with my story in any way other than reading (commenting, favoriting, etc.) I can see their usernames. I'm not targeting anyone in particular bc it's all over the internet, not just wattpad. referring to yourself as a 'weeb' doesn't mean you just watch anime. here's some text from a website that explains what I'm trying to say.

A weeb is a derisive term for a non-Japanese person who is so obsessed with Japanese culture that they wish they were actually Japanese.

yeah..💀 ik the word 'otaku' means you enjoy watching anime but idk if that's an accepted phrase either. but um I don't think it's necessary to call yourself either of them. there are many first hand accounts from people of Japanese descent stating that they don't like people calling themselves weebs and otakus. and also please don't try to gain the 'I would like to be Japanese' mindset (ive actually heard people say that 😭)

if you do have the mindset...first off you're weird and second you're probably just thinking of Japan as some aesthetic wonderland. ofc there are tons of beautiful places to visit but Japan has its own problems as well. the country is full of humans, humans aren't perfect. not only that, but saying you want to be Japanese is also saying you wish to be Asian. they are one of the many groups of POC that experience a crap ton of unnecessary racism. wishing to be any ethnicity or race beside your own is weird (with the exception of POC wanting to be white and not having to endure half as much hatred and criticism they receive)

so yeah calling yourself a weeb if you're not Japanese is insensitive 👍

Narrator POV

You burst into the room Rumi had been staying in for the past few weeks.

"Hey," she greeted with a warm smile.

"Hello, my love," you replied, kissing her cheek. "OKAY, WE HAVE TO GET TO BUSINESS."

Her eyebrows perked in interest.

"We're taking another huge step in your recovery today. Your body is finally strong enough, both physically and mentally, for you to start walking."

"HELL YEAH, LET'S DO THIS!"

"HEY! Watch your heart beat," you warned, pointing at the machine.

She rolled her eyes. You lowered the bars of her bed.

"Carrot, you look so good in your uniform," she said with a hand on your cheek. Rumi jokingly bit her bottom lip.

"Christ. Okay, nice and slow."

Rumi whipped her legs off the edge of the bed and stood up. She almost instantly face planted with the ground before you caught her.
