ROSALINAS POV
Warmth. The first thing I felt. I opened my eyes to a bright healers room. Something warm underneath me... a body. I look up to see Loki calmly asleep holding my waste. Ping ping. No. He's growing attached. I remove his arms and slowly sit up. He stirs but doesn't wake. "He's been in that position with you all night." I turn to see Eir.
"How long have I been here?" I say quietly not trying to wake Loki.
"Just for a night. I gave you an elixir which dulls your emotions for now. But the elixir will wear off so be warned." I nod. Should I leave? I liked the warm feeling of Loki. Stop. I can't. We need to keep out relationship strictly friends. No. Less then friends. I get up. Loki stirs again but doesn't wake.
I sneak way and go back to my room and lock the door. I need to get through this alone. I need to break connections. I shouldn't have come here. I should have just made myself be in isolation. Away from people. Away from feelings. I start to feel some of my emotions come back. Ok. I'll get through this one at a time.

LOKIS POVColdness. Thats what I felt when I stirred awake. I went to wrap my arms around Rose but my arms went through where she should be. I opened my eyes to see an empty chest and a light room. It must be the next day. But where is Rose? Did something happen to her? Eir walk in the room. "Good afternoon sleepy head." She drops off her herbs at her elixir counter.
"Where's Rose?" I sit up. "Is she ok?" I swing my legs to the floor.
"I'm not sure. She left when I was in the back room with another patient." She started ripping leaves and putting them in her potion.
"Aren't you supposed to watch your patients. You just let her leave with her condition?" I stood up.
"She was with you. I thought that was good enough but to see I was wrong I am truly sorry." She corked the vial and started swirling it around. " And I though Prince Loki was a light sleeper. Surely you would be able to tell if a weight was lifted off your own chest. Let alone scurry out the room." She smiled at me like I was caught in a lie. "You must feel relaxed around her to be able to have a nice rest. Lover boy." I scoff.
"I told you love is not a thing. It's a facade kept up to fake happiness." But I did get a nice sleep. It's been a while since that has happened. She rolled her eyes.
"Whatever you say Prince Loki. But one day she will be gone and you will be to late to act upon your feeling toward her." He uncorked the vial and poured it on a cloth then headed to the back rooms patients.
Love. Not a real thing. A facade that ends up blinding each participant to reality.
I headed to Roses room hoping she would be there. Wait, has she eaten? Eir said afternoon. I must get Rose food. I headed to the kitchen and asked for two trays of food but made sure Rose had more healthy choices since she needs to get her strength back.I arrived at her door and knocked with my foot. The two trays occupying my hands. "Who is it?" I can hear a strain in her voice like she has been crying. Her emotions must be coming back.
"Loki! I brought us food, may I come in?" I hear her walking to the door and it swings open.
"Hello. Thank you for bringing food." She moves out of my way. I bring the food to her sitting area and put them down on the table. "Are you eating with me?" She sits on the chair.
"If that is alright with you. I would like to stay and make sure you are ok when the elixir wares off." She nods and picks up her silver ware. "Are you feeling ok?" She shrugs. "I'm sorry I let this happen. If I knew Sgyin-." She holds up her hand.
"It's fine Loki. She is just mad I steal all of your time which I understand. She is your lover and I am just a burden." She coughs and scrunches her face like her chest is tightening. I rub her back and she shoved my hand away. "I think it is best for everyone if you stop hanging around me so much." She coughs again sits back away from her food.
"I can't leave you." She looks at me and it pains me to see her eyes so dull in color. "I don't care if Sgyin is getting jealous. She has nothing to be jealous of. I am just here to help not to for any kind of feelings." She looks back to her food.
"Good." She sits up and starts to eat slow, little bites of food. She coughs again and pushes the food away. "I can't right now I'm sorry. The elixir is waring off." She stands up and goes to her bed to curl up under the covers. I stand up and sit in the chair that always waits for me next to her bed.
"Would you like me to read? Maybe it will take your mind off of your memories." She nods. I conjure up one of the Midgardian stories that won't effect her. "Just close your eyes and listen to my voice." She nods and I start to ready.
About three pages in she starts having abnormal breaths. "Listen to my voice Rose. Only my voice." She nods and I continue reading glancing between the words and her to make sure she is ok. Ten pages more and she starts to shake, not much. More like she is cold. I scoot closer and with one hand I hold the book while the other rubs her hair. I keep reading. After 5 pages she stops moving irregularly and I know she has passed out.
I pick her up and carry her to my room. I don't know why I did this. Maybe to keep her with me at all times. How can I let this happen. I should remove all of those books from my room. Hide them and all the books away from her. Cut down that willow tree and pull all the flowers. She doesn't deserve this. I laid her in my sheets and pulled her head to my chest.
