At Least We Had a Happy Parting

Chapter Seven

Loki's POV

As soon as we got a few steps out she started to breath haggardly. Like she was trying to breath under water. She brought her hand to her chest and started to rub. She was shaking. I held her tighter. I felt her lose her stance so I held her close to my side to keep her from falling. She started to cry and I didn't know what to do. She didn't say it was going to be this bad. I don't know if I should picked up or not. She's so weak, I feel like I should hold her close. But why would I do that. I'm helping because I pity her. She's to fragile.

"To .... much" I felt her go limp and I grabbed her harder so she wouldn't fall. I carefully worked her to my front and picked her up. Her face stained with lines of tears. I could feel her heart beating fast and irregular. I don't care what she says. I'm taking her to Eir, I have to find out if she is ok. Dark magic or not there has to be something I can do to help. I told her I would be there for her an I will, because she's weak and by herself. She stood up for me when I talked about myself poorly. She doesn't even know me. She's to kind to suffer like this.

"Eir!" I walked into the healers.

"Allfather, what happened?" Eir walks over to the bed I layer her on.

"She has a heart illness. Please check if she's ok and tell no one else. Not even Odin. She wishes to keep it a secret." Eir starts to work with her magic. Sending her healing sedir through Rosalina to find anything wrong. She looks up to me will a grave expression.

"Prince Loki, this is no illness." I dropped my gaze to Rosalina

"I am aware. She told me she was cursed while in the womb. Dark magic." Eir nods. "I just want to make sure her heart is not damaged before I take her back to her room. She told me not to come here because she doesn't want anyone to know she is dying. She doesn't even know who I am. She thinks I'm just another sorcerer in the palace. And you can not tell her who I am."

"I understand.... whatever just happened made her heart very weak. And it's moving very fast, it needs to slow down. I can give her a calming elixir but it's her body that needs to maintain equilibrium. Right now her heart is working to much and her lungs are working to slow. She needs rest. I don't know how long she will be asleep though. I'm sorry I couldn't do more my prince."

"That's ok. She told me she has seen many healers and they couldn't do anything. I'll take her back to her room. Don't speak to anyone about this. Not even mother, and I know you love talking with the Queen." I pick up Rosalina and walk back to her room. Should I tell her who I am? It would be so much easier to talk to her and always be there? She will find out eventually, it's better to tell her myself so I can be there in case she has another attack.

"Brother" I turn to see Thor. "What happened? Is Lady Rosalina ok?" He runs toward us.

"Yes. She fell asleep in the garden. I'm taking her back to her room." Thor smiled

"I knew she would grow on you. Has my brother found love?" I rolled my eyes

"No. If someone found her laying in the grass it would look bad for me. And there were no guards around to take her back so I am unfortunately burdened with her." Thor smiled. "What?"

"You like her... I know you. Buts it's ok. I'll play your little game. Since you don't care for her I'll take her off your hands and bring her to her room." Thor reaches for her and I step back.

"It's fine. We are almost there and I don't want you to kill my wife with your brute force. I'll take her the rest of the way." Thor smiles, nods and walks away.

"Oh mother will love this."

"Don't you dare Thor. You dare speak with her I'll turn you back into a toad." Thors booming laugh filled the halls as he walked away.

He's such an annoying brother. Can't he just leave me alone. He has to make everything uncomfortable. I definitely don't like Rosalina, I just care for her. I have Sgyin, beautiful and powerful. Why would I chose Rosalina the complete opposite. Sure Rosalina is gorgeous, I guess she gets that from her mother. She weak though. She will also die anyway. So I shouldn't start caring for her in way other then her caretaker. If I don't take care of her Odin will think I am the same heartless man and will never give me back my status.

I used my magic to open and closed her door, then pulled her sheets back so I can lay her down. She looked peaceful and I could see her breathing return to normal. I sat down on the chair in her sitting area and summoned my book I was reading.

"Patients Loki. Her heart is week"

"Brother! where is Lady Rosalina?"
"She's resting."
"For a whole day?"

"She's been asleep for almost two days Eir. How is she supposed to get better if she can't eat?"
"Just keep giving her the supplements I gave you."

"Loki my child. Why haven't I seen your wife yet? I heard she was feeling homesick."
"She is resting Mother. She will be fine."

"Eir! She's still asleep. It's been 4 days!"
"There is nothing we can do. She needs her rest. Calm down!"
"Calm! Calm down. How can I calm down."

"Loki. You haven't visited me in a while. I miss you."
"I miss you to Sgyin."
"Do you care for her more than me?"
"Of course not. You are above her. I chose you, she will die soon. And we can be together."
"Show me how much you want me."

"Rosalina, you have to wake up. It's been a week. You need to get better and soon."

"I don't know what to do. She won't wake up. Mother. Her heart is to weak."
"Son she will wake. Her father told me everything. She just needs time... you care for her."
"She is my wife, it is my duty"
"That's not what I mean"

"I brought a new book for us to read. This one is called Romeo and Juliet. It's another Midgard book. It's written by one of my favorite mortal writers. Hopefully it doesn't effect you."

"Why are you avoiding me! We are together but you are always with her! You told me she meant nothing!"
"My love calm down. She means nothing but if I don't pretend to care for her then how am I supposed to become Prince then King."
"You haven't treated me the same. You treat me like I'm not even here. I miss you. I miss your hands on me. Your lips on mine."
"Your beautiful Sgyin. No one can tear me away from you."
"Oh-a ... Loki"

"Of course not. I care for her but love is a powerful word. You can't just simply use-... she squeezed my hand!"

"No. She squeezed my hand. She waking up. You need to comes.... now!"
