3rd Person P.O.VMidori snagged some of the spring onions that were laying in the basket. Inspecting them, she secluded one of them. "This one is starting to rot away, Kiyoshi-san." She stated softly, gaze fixated on the rotting spring onion.
"Ah! I must have forgot to check today morning! I apologise, Midori-san!" The old man frenzied and bowed in apology. Said girl laughed it off, "Do not worry Kiyoshi-san, i do not really mind." and she picked up another spring onion.
"Here you go." She says as she hands him 7.63 yen. "Thank you, have a good day." Kiyoshi thanks as he grabs the yen. "You too, Kiyoshi-san." Midori smiles as he puts the onions in a shopper for her.
Handing her the shopper, she gratefully takes it and walks off to her house. Entering her small house, she inhales the homey air. Exhaling, she shut the door behind her placing her groceries on a nearby table. Out of the corner of her eye, the window provided her view of the nearby shops which then leased on to the mountain.
Walking over to it, she leans on the frame. Gazing at the stalls, she spots Tanjiro, his checkered kimono dressed him, and a scarf to sheathe his neck. He smiled at the stall-owner as he lectured the younger boy to not exert himself due to walking up and down the mountain.
She watched them converse for a moment, and then decided to walk over to them. She grabbed her own scarf as well, wrapped it around her neck, securing it from the cold. Opening the door and shutting it behind her. She made her way over to Tanjiro who was getting ready to leave. "Tanjiro!" She yelled to gain his attention.
She waved as he turned around, a smile present on his face. "Hello, Midori." He breathed out. "I was wondering if you would like to walk together to your house?" She inquired him with a timid smile. "Are you sure? I wouldn't want to tire you." Tanjiro asked for reassurance. "No, no, not at all! It's just that Kie-san asked me to have tea with her next time so I wanted to tag along today." Midori assured with a smile.
"Of course! If you want." Tanjiro expressed. "Let's go then." She started walking and they both made their way up to the mountain. Only 2 minutes into the walk, and both of them heard a calling from the side. "Hey! Tanjiro, Midori!" Saburo called out. "Are you two really going to go back to the mountain this late?" He quizzed with an unsure tone. "You guys better not, it's dangerous at this time." He worried. "Don't worry, I have a great sense of smell, so we'll be fine." Tanjiro assured. "I'll put you two up for the night. Come on, come here." He offered.
"Saburo-san, do not worry, my house is not far from here, it's a two minute walk," Midori paused. "though Tanjiro should stay." She stated. "Are you sure? I ca-" "Yes, I'm sure, Saburo-san." She assured softly. "Alright." Saburo sighed out. "Tanjiro, if it's okay, you can stop by my place and we can go together tomorrow morning." Midori inquired, a smile gracing her features.
His eyes widened, and a hint of red coated his cheeks before the tint quickly disappeared. "A-ahm, yes of course it's okay! Good night Midori." He cleared his throat and bid his goodbye. "Good night, Tanjiro, Saburo-san." She farewelled and started her walk down the mountain, her back-length hair swaying by the cause of the night breeze.
"Pretty girl, isn't she, Tanjiro? Must be why you're staring." He teased, eyes fixed on Tanjiro, who watched Midori disappear into the night with a smile on his face. He jolted out of his state and turned to face Saburo. To say the least, he was a blushing mess.
