Midori P.O.V

Night flew by faster than expected. It was 5-ish in the morning and I had just woken up. Remembering to walk to the Kamados' house with Tanjiro, I got up and quickly got ready. Stepping out of my night wear, I quickly slipped on my kimono which was littered with flowers at the edge of the sleeves and the bottom.

Brushing out my midnight blue hair with a comb, I gathered all of it, tying it into a ponytail, it being sealed with a pearly band. I let two strands decorate my face, since I thought it made me look better. "Tanjiro is probably going to come soon.." I told myself. "I can fix myself some breakfast." Smiling to myself, I cleared my dressing table.

Finishing up my miso soup, I heard a knock at the door. "Must be Tanjiro." I murmured to myself while tidying up the dinner table. Rushing to the door, I opened the door revealing a joyful Tanjiro. "Good morning, Midori." He chirped. Replying to him, I quickly set the bowls of finished food aside. "I assume we start our journey to the top of the mountain now?" I quizzed with a soft smile on my face. "Yes. I can't wait for you to meet my siblings again, especially Nezuko, she was really fond of you." He recalled.

"Oh? Then I'll make sure to visit often." I replied cheerfully. He chuckled at the comment and we soon made our way to the path leading to Tanjiro's house. The journey included small conversations, teasing here and there. (Mostly from Midori.

As the two friends neared the house, the Kamado suddenly halted and took a whiff of the air. His eyes flew open in fear. "Tanjiro, is everything alright?" Midori asked in worry. "It's the smell of blood." He echoed. At this, her own eyes widened and they both sprinted off towards the house.

As they neared the house even more. The view of two bodies outside the house and blood pooled around them was clear. 'Nezuko, Takeru...' Midori's breathing started to increase and she could hear Tanjiro's shaky breath next to her. "No, no, no, no!" The girl yelled in disbelief. She quickly made her way over to the two. "Nezuko, Rokuta! Wake up, what-what happened here?!" She asked the two, knowing it was no use. She felt her vision getting blurry and tears pooling up in her eyes.

Craning her head to the side, she saw the rest of the Kamados covered in blood, murdered. She stared at them tears flowing down her eyes like a waterfall. She jolted out of her stare when she heard the distressed scream of Tanjiro as he started to acknowledge the situation.

"Nezuko!" He cried out her name. "W-what happened here?!" He wailed. Turning his head to face Midori, he saw as she faced the inside of the house and as the sobs racked her petite body. Following her line of vision, he saw all of his family members dead.

His breathing progressively increased and sweat started to form on his forehead. "Mom, Hanako, Takeo, Shigeru." He called out with a shaky voice. "Tanjiro!" Midori yelped as he fell down, catching him in the right time. As she let him down slowly, she turned to check on Nezuko and Rokuta. She put her hand under Rokuta's nose to no avail, he wasn't breathing.

Next, she checked Nezuko by repeating the same action as she did to Rokuta. She let out a relief of sigh and a small joyous chuckle. "Tanjiro!" Midori cries out in pure joy. "Tanjiro!" She called out a second time for him to unfreeze from his state. "Nezuko... she's breathing!" She breathed out.
