Five takes hold of my elbow, and I pull away as if he burned me. "I am not jumping with you again."

Huffing in annoyance, he disappears and emerges from behind a door labeled 08. "M'lady," he holds the door open for me in a gentlemanly manner, bowing his head.

"Why, thank you, good sir," I play along, sashaying into the room like a proper lady. I then proceed to belly-flop onto the king-sized bed, which has no business being this comfortable. Stretching and sinking further into the sheets, I let out a contented sigh. I pat the empty space next to me. "Come on, Five, jump on."

"I'm good, thanks," he deadpans.

"You know you want tooooo," I sing.

"I really doooon't," he mimics me.

"Stop being so pissy and get over here," I say, reaching my arms out in his direction.

He rolls his eyes and reluctantly walks over, sitting down at the foot of the bed, eyeing me warily.

"I don't bite," I tell him, tugging on his jacket sleeve as a way of inviting him to lie down too. "Unless you want me to," I wink exaggeratedly as he falls back onto the bed.

"Y/n!" he says in frustration, propping himself on his elbows.

"What?" I laugh at his pained face.

"You're such an idiot," he lies back down, a smile ghosts over his lips.

"But I'm your idiot," I say, exaggeratedly poking him in the stomach, at which he recoils and lets out a short chuckle.

"Why do you do that?"

"Do what?"

"You know, you're always...saying stuff like that," his cheeks go pink.

"Like...what?" I smirk as I finally catch on, moving so that I'm lying on my side and facing him.

"You know what I'm talking about, y/n!"

"No, I don't think I do."

"You flirt with me!" he finally bursts. "You're always flirting with me," he mumbles, all shy.

"Do you want me to stop?" I say, still smirking despite my stomach doing flips. So he does pick up on that.

"No, wh- I- no, I mean, I don't mind it, it's- like- just," he stops sputtering, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath as I smile at his adorable nervousness.

"I don't think I've ever seen you this flustered," I grin at him. "It's adorable."

"Stooop," Five groans, covering his face with his hands.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," I laugh. "I can't resist, it's just so fun."

Five studies my face for a little longer, and my heart beats faster every second. "Why do you do that?" I tease him.

"I don't know," he breathes, seemingly lost in thought, still staring and making my stomach do a whole gymnastics routine.

"We should get ready for bed," I break away from our impromptu staring contest, getting up from the bed.

"Yeah, yeah," he shakes himself out of his thoughts, sitting up. "I'll take the floor?"

My jaw drops at his offer. "Five? Are you okay?" I put my hand to his forehead to check his temperature. "I think you've jumped a bit too much, you're not usually this much of a gentleman," I tut. "You must be turning into a simp, then," I gasp.

"Shut up," he throws a pillow at me before grabbing another one and getting off the bed.

"Hey, hey, none of that, now," I chide him. "Get back on the bed, you've been jumping all day, you need to rest," I go up to him, pushing him back by the shoulders. "You look so tired," I frown at his dark circles and dead eyes.

"Jeez, okay, mom," he finally concedes and falls back onto the sheets. "Where're you gonna sleep, then?"

"On the bed, of course."

"Th-the same one as I'm sleeping on?" his voice cracks.

"I don't see another one," I tell him.

"Ah," he says faintly.

"You okay? You look a little pale," I say seriously. "I can sleep on the floor if you want."

"No! No, it's- it's fine, we can...share a bed," he nods, as if trying to convince himself.

"Okaaaay?" I say, eyeing him weirdly. "I'm gonna go freshen up," I point a thumb at the bathroom behind me. "Think you'll be fine while I'm gone?"

"Of course I will," he bites, but it's less aggressive than I'd expect from him.

After staring at him for a while longer, trying to figure out what was up with him, I step into the bathroom. It must be all the travel, I conclude.

I walk back into the room showered and in a tank top and uniform shorts. We'll have to get new clothes tomorrow, I note. I find Five thankfully passed out on the bed, snoring softly. I've never seen him so vulnerable before, I think as I lie down beside him. The guy that's killed and slaughtered countless people all through time, possibly the deadliest boy ever - here, in front of me, sleeping like a baby. He trusts me, I realize. And I trust him. As my eyes droop closed and I drift out of the physical world, my conscience once again tells me that my feelings for him might just extend beyond a like-like. And for once, I don't tell it to piss off.

Maybe running away to the sixties wasn't such a bad idea after all.

A/N: I really just made Five into a whole soft boy here didn't I
