CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE: The Flight
Open your eyes Halo...” Venn whispers.
As she opened her eyes, she saw the moon and the stars but the most beautiful thing she saw was the man carrying her, the black-winged man who flew away with her.

Such beauty was he carrying with him in his flight, a thought that lingers in Venn Carcii’s thoughts as he sees the amazement in Halo’s eyes. It was the same as when Elian was with him then.
But at the back of his mind a voice questions, “Where are you taking Halo?”
“Shut up kid, you dozed off. It’s my time to use the body. You have no rights to question me, since you’ve been purposely avoiding sleeping at night,” Venn answered back to Dylan’s voice in his mind.
While, Venn takes over Dylan’s body, he is transported in a dark empty hall.
There he thought why he had fallen asleep; he was not feeling sleepy that afternoon since he slept in the morning.
He remembered the muffins Carmen and Luna made him eat; it had some incantation to make him have good dreams. But they didn’t say he’d fall asleep that instant.
He regretted having to fall asleep; he doesn’t want Venn Carcii anywhere near Halo.
Halo’s very special to Dylan, for some reason he feels as if they’ve known each other all their life. He feels comfortable being with her but there are times just like this morning, there’s this feeling creeping inside him, that he just wants to touch her face and never let go. Whenever she smiles, his heart feels this alien emotion. There was the time when he could not do anything for her, after the fight with Ykzyar in Margueritte’s body, he felt so broken whenever he sees the tired face in Halo’s face.
Sapphire was transported to Sotteria that very instant, she’s now locked in her old study in the Kingdom of Eternal Lightning. For some strange reason she cannot contact Halo and she’s now getting worried that she’s in danger. Sapphire is not one to take orders from someone so gallantly. But Halo never did give her orders, she’s this little girl that you’d want to help grow up and someone you’d want to protect. Sapphire was freed by a simple girl like Halo. She then remembers Dylan whose body is being used by Venn Carcii, the Fire God who’s responsible of all of them being locked up. But then again, she knew Venn as a loyal friend and lover to Princess Elian. Until, the balance amongst the elements of Eternal is back, the Gods can never go to Eternal without their human partner as their body. And so Sapphire decided to search for Princess Elian and the other Gods during the time Halo gave her to be alone. But now, Sapphire is pacing back and forth in her old study somewhere in Sotteria.
Venn stopped flying and landed on a field with a lot of flowers that looks up to the huge moon above them all. In Halo’s eyes are amazement, she never thought of Lanrete Academy as this huge place. She stared back at Venn who now looks at the moon above, his cerulean blue eyes glistening as light touched his face.
Venn stared back at Halo as she stared back at him.
“I’ve never seen such blue eyes,” Halo whispered softly. “What are you?” Halo suddenly asked.
Venn gaped a little at Halo’s sudden question.
“I’m a demon,” Venn gently answered.
Halo closed in to Venn, “You are a creature from Eternal, right?”
Venn smiled at Halo, staring back at her emerald green eyes and simply nodded as a reply.
“What kingdom are you from?” Halo asked.
“My apologies dear Halo, I cannot tell you,” Venn answered with a hint of guilt in his eyes.
Suddenly, Halo just flopped and lay on her back staring at the moon above.
Venn folded his black wings and also lay on his back but staring at Halo observing how her facial expression changed from sadness to disappointment. One thing he fancied with Halo is her facial expressions, even during her sleep it changes. That is why he always visits the girl but deep inside him, he was thinking if it was the only reason.
Halo tilted her head to look at Venn, “You’re wings, they’re gone... so you can fold your wings?”
Venn chuckled a bit and answered, “I don’t feel like folding them, it seems like you’re always fascinated by them. I get the feeling they’re what draws you to me.”
Halo then whispered, “Of course there’s another reason. . .” After which, Halo’s cheeks became reddish, embarrassed of her thoughts.
Venn sees this opportunity as one of the vulnerable moments of sweet and innocent Halo.
In Halo’s hair, a flower was beautifully stucked. Venn closes in and gently got the flower from Halo’s hair and said, “What can you say about this flower?”
Halo’s eyes moved so sudden to look at the flower and replied, “Well, it’s beautiful.”
“And, you’re more beautiful than this flower dearest Halo”, Venn whispered as he caressed the reddened cheeks of Halo. She tried to cover her face with one of her hands but Venn gently grabs it and he kisses the top of Halo’s small but slender hand.
Halo’s cheeks flushed almost garnet red and gently inhales and exhales. But she’s still avoiding eye contact and this is when Venn stopped kissing her hand and stared at her, waiting for her eyes to look at him too.
But instead, Halo smiled and looked at the sky. She laid on her back and said, “I guess you’re living there.” She pointed up high, and continued, “Because the shine of your eyes are like those of the twinkling of the stars, but you always seemed like a light years away from me.”
Venn swiftly sat and got his face near Halo, forcing her to stare at him with her emerald eyes, “Now tell me Halo, am I still what you term as light years away?”
Halo replied with a smile, “Yes, it seems like when you’re staring at me you’re searching. For something or someone...”
Venn, sat upright as Halo did.
“I wish I could help you look for it,” Halo added. She got on her knees as she faced Venn and kissed him on the forehead.

Sorry for the LONG time it took me to update, it’s really difficult for me to write while I’m a full- time high school teacher. But no more excuses...
