AN: This is the opening credits for Motherland: Fort Salem. Pretty cool, right? Also the picture is Adam in everyday clothing instead of his Garrison uniform. You'll realize why very soon.

"Lights out in five! Everyone back to their rooms, now." Iverson announces. Just around the corner were Layla and Hunk.

Out of uniform, she wore her hair down with part of it tied back, with the same moon hair clip as before. A blue stud earing in her left ear, while in her right a silver star stud with a silver cuff on her upper ear. A dark blue t-shirt with elbow length sleeves, ripped up dark blue jeans, a military green jacket with orange stripes on the arms, an off-white hood, and black combat boots.

"You know, we shouldn't be doing this." Hunk says. "Seriously, I mean, I know you can be a little rebellious sometimes, but what do you think people will say when they hear the top witch of the caster course was caught sneaking out?" He questions nervously.

"I know, Hunk. I just think it would be beneficial we all get away from here for at least a night. We've all been really stressed lately, and we need to bond as a team don't we?" She reasons as they switch hallways as the lights are turned off.

"Here's the plan; We get Pidge, go out to look for Keith, then we all head to town. Have some fun, maybe get food and loosen up a little. You know, destress. What do you think?" The blue-haired girl says.

"Mmm... Fine. I guess..." Hunk groans in agreement.

"Awesome. And with any luck, Adam will be there to join us." She adds.

"Uh, just because he's your second-cousin, doesn't mean he'll break protocol for you." Hunk states, as they quickly change halls under the cover of darkness.

"You know, for someone in a space-exploration program, you don't have much of a sense of adventure." Layla says as they pass the cafeteria, which was still open.

"Yeah, if we're discovered we'll end up in the director's office. Besides, it was this or the regular military program. Unlike you, I'm not much of a fighter, Layla." Hunk answers while they crawl under the cafeteria window, out of view.

They continue their way to Pidge's room. At one point hiding in trash cans to avoid security. They eventually make it, only to have Pidge walk out of his room with his backpack and heading down the hall. Curious, the two follow after their teammate, which leads them to the roof. Where Pidge was sitting, with a whole set-up of strange tech gadgets and headphones on.

"You come to rock or something?" Layla asks, having snuck up behind the boy and lifted off his headphone. Said boy jumped, gasping as he turned around to see his teammates behind him.

"Oh! Layla... Hunk... No, um, just looking at the stars." He replies, clearly nervous.

"Yeah, right. Seriously though, what're you doing up here? And what's with all the equipment? Where'd you even get this stuff?" The girl says then asks.

"Actually, I built it." Pidge replies with a smug look on his face.

"Wait, you built all this?" Hunk asks as he slides up and tries to touch the stuff.

"Stop it!" Pidge says, smacking the boy's hand away. "And yes. With this baby, I can scan all the way to the edge of the solar system." He then brags.

"Edge of the solar system...? Like Kerberos?" Layla proceeds to ask and the boy freezes on the spot. "Pidge, like Keith, you go off whenever you hear about it." The girl states.

"Second warning Hunk!" The small boy warns as the bigger one tries to tough his tech equipment, again. Layla sighs, sitting down next to the kid.

"Look, Pidge, if we're going to work as a team, we need to understand each other better. We can't keep secrets either. So tell us... What's going on?" She states then asks.
