Harry went to his and Liam’s shared flat, and went in. “Li?”

Liam came out of the kitchen and smiled at him. “Hey, babe.”

“Hey…” Harry trailed off.

“Dinner’s almost done. It’s your favorite, steak and potatoes.”

Harry sighed. He had promised Zayn he would have dinner with them. “Thanks, babe.”

Harry couldn’t ignore Liam constantly picking with his sleeve or scratching at his wrist, but he knew. He knew what Liam had done. He had cut again, and instantly felt guilty. Maybe moving in with Zayn and Madison wasn’t the best idea especially since Liam was cutting again.

Cutting even though Liam had promised Harry he wouldn’t anymore.

Harry smiled at him before going into his bedroom, pulling out his phone, and calling Zayn.

“Hello?” A little voice asked.

Harry couldn’t stop the smile on his face. “Hi, Madison.”

“Harry!” She squealed, causing him to chuckle.

“Madison, what have I told you about answering the phone?” Zayn’s voice came in through the phone.

“Sorry, daddy.”

“Go wash up for dinner, please.” Zayn said. Harry had automatically felt guilty. How does he tell Zayn?

“Harry?” Zayn’s voice asked into the phone.

“Hey, Zayn.”

“Hey! Dinner’s ready. When do you think you’ll be here?”

Harry sighed, feeling guilty again.

“Babe! Dinner’s ready!” Harry heard Liam call for him.

“You didn’t tell him?” Zayn asked, knowingly.

“I’m sorry-”

“It’s fine, Harry, I get it. We come in second to Liam, always have, always will, we get it.” And with that, Harry heard the dial tone in his ear and sighed.

Zayn had hung up on him.

He sighed as he set his phone down, and sat on his bed.

Why was life so cruel? Why was life screwing him over?
