True to his word, Harry had shown up Friday morning for his day with Madison. Zayn was a little hesitant at first because he thought Harry was just going to ditch them, but after the fifth visit, he started relaxing a little.
It wasn’t until the seventh visit that Zayn brought up the question he dreaded the most. “Harry?”
“Hmm?”
“Do you want to share custody of Madison?”
Harry looked at him, “you mean…?”
Zayn nodded. “I do. I also think it’s time we tell her.”
Harry jumped up and hugged him tightly. “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You won’t regret this! Promise!”
Zayn laughed. “It’s okay. You’re her father. It’s only fair.”
Harry practically pranced on him and squeezed him tightly.
“I do have a condition, though.”
Harry let him go, “okay, what’s this condition?”
“We will raise her together, but you and I will not be together.”
“But why? We could be a happy little family.” Harry countered.
Zayn looked down, “I don’t want to get my hopes up only to have them shut down.”
Harry stood up. “Well, fine, if that’s the way you’re going to act, then forget about custody. I’ll just file for full.”
Zayn looked up at him. “You can’t do that! She’s my child!”
“She’s ours! I can, and I will!
And with that, Harry slammed the door shut leaving Zayn in tears.
