Ian POV:

"You said that's the hardest spell" I said.

All my spells that I had done previously have gone wrong. It took me forever to get the levitation spell right.

"You are ready!" Barely said shaking me on my shoulders.

"To make lightning strike with ease, one must follow all decrees."

"You have to do everything, speak from your heart's fire, trust yourself, focus, all of it!"

I turn around and look at the boulders. The police were going to catch us any second. In the rush I started to yell the spell out.

"Voltar Thundasir"

"Voltar Thundasir"

Voltar Thundasir!"

"I can't! I can't do it!" I say stepping back

"We're not going to see you, Dad. And it's all my fault" I say with devastation as I hang my head to the floor.

Barley turned around and picked up a rock from the floor and placed it inside Guinevere.

"What are you doing?" I ask turning around with a deep sad toned voice.

Barley places a cd in the player and music starts beaming from the speakers. Suddenly Guinevere was flying on the road at full speed. One of her tires broke and started galloping like a horse. Suddenly Guinevere reached a hill and went into a balder which crushed into the rocks above.

The rocks cracked and fell down with Guinevere alongside.

"Barley" I slowly say as I look at him picking up the light that had come off the front of Guinevere.

"She was just a beat-up old van" Barley sighed as he rubbed the front of the light.

"Come on, we got to go" Barley says putting the light in his pocket.

Ameria POV:

Poor Barley. He had lost Guinvere. I had felt sorry for him. But he didn't seem that sad when we finally got to the last raven that pointed straight to the ground.

Barley tries to lift the bottom of it but it didn't budge.

"Wait" I say as I placed my hand over the tap and brushed the dust off. I agusted the way I was standing to be perfectly in line with the peak. Then it finally pointed to a small star shape like object in the center of its chest.

Ian looked up following my steps. He placed his hands over it and pushed it in. It popped right out.

"Oh. You see that, Dad? The apprentice has become the master!" Barley said as Barley took the star shaped stone and looked at the pattens on it.

"It looks like water" I say pointing to the small wave like lines.

"So, what's the, uh, X mean?" Ian askes

"On a quest, an X only means one thing" Barley said smilling as he turned his at a stream. We walked down to the stream and Barley pushed vine like curtains out of the way so we could pass through.

"We go to the end of the water, we'll find that Phoenix Gem" Barley happily with his fist high in the air.

Before we started walking Ian lit Barley's torch and lit him one myself. I was in the process of making my own a quick flash of white wiped through my mind.
