"WHAT?! No, no no no! Don't kill him!" Wilbur shouted, running to the door and standing in front of it. If Quackity tried leaving through there, then Wilbur would stop him. And if Quackity left through the balcony, then Wilbur could very easily get the guards before Quackity could get far enough.
"Anarchy isn't the best option. We still need order and laws and stuff, I just don't think a monarchy is the right thing. And killing Dad won't do anything! It'll just throw everything into chaos and then I'll be the one in power!" Wilbur said desperately, clearly alarmed and scared.

Quackity narrowed his eyes at Wilbur, raising an eyebrow.
“You won’t be in power if I get rid of you. The next in line will, and you’ll be fine. There won’t be any reason for you to die, not any reason for you to rule, not any reason for you to do what you don’t want. It’ll be fine! All that has to happen is your father dies and you’re removed as the heir.” Quackity smiled bitterly, walking slowly backwards. He soon turned around, breaking into a full on run, going to the balcony before jumping off, disappearing out of view.

Wilbur inhaled sharply, turning and opening the door.
"FIND PHIL. NOW." He shouted at the guards, who nodded and ran off in search of the king. Wilbur's heart was racing, and he was shaking with fear. He ran into Techno's room, the piglin and Tommy both in there.
"TECHNO. Get your sword and run. Take Tommy with you. Find somewhere to hide, we're in danger. No time for questions." He said quickly before running out, searching for his father desperately. He had to get to Phil before Quackity could. He had to raise hell in the castle, get all of the guards to protect Wilbur's father and brothers. Wilbur's mind briefly flashed to Sally. The woman who he was set to be married in the next few years. Should he try to warn her, too? No, there's no need to. She's a noble, not of any royal blood yet. She's not in danger. Just Phil, and maybe Wilbur's brothers.

Quackity caught the distant shouting right before he jerked his body up, darting into the sky. He had been to the castle too many times, he already knew the layout better than the king himself. He remembered the court room window, flying quickly to it in less than a minute, flying right through the window and into the large court room. No one was there, to Wilbur’s luck, and Quackity soon flew to the large doors, dipping down. He landed on the ground for a second, only to open the door and fly to the ceiling area of the large hallway, narrowly avoiding being spotted by guards. He flew through the halls, repeatedly putting ink on the wall from a broken pen he had, marking where he had been.

Wilbur finally found Phil. The king was sitting in his bedroom, staring at a family portrait with solemn eyes. Wilbur burst into the room, running over to Phil.
"DAD! Dad, you need to run. We need to hide. Techno's protecting Tommy right now, but you're in the most danger. Dad please, before he finds you." Wilbur said quickly, grabbing onto Phil's hand and trying to pull him out of the room. He was mostly trying to get Phil away from the large windows that decorated the room, along with the open balcony that sat on one side of the room.

Phil jolted, quickly pulled his hand away from Wilbur and standing up.
“Woah woah woah, calm down-! What is your big deal, and what do you mean ‘he’? This better not be one of your dreams again, I’ve believed too much from them-.” He frowned, narrowing his eyes at Wilbur. “Just- tell me what’s wrong, I don’t want anything bad to happen-“

Phil was cut off by a large bang that came from somewhere in the castle, followed by far shouting. Quackity had ended up turning too sharply around a corner and slamming into the wall, falling to the ground and causing the loud bang. The guards soon caught up with him, grabbing him and putting him in cuffs, along with somehow managing to tie his wings down. He was brought to the king’s bedroom, the door opening and Quackity being shoved forward, a few guards walking into the room.
“Let go of me, would you-?!”

Phil looked over to the guards and Quackity, eyes widening as he looked back at Wilbur. “What did you do.”

Wilbur flinched as Quackity was shoved in, feeling a bit more awkward now as opposed to scared.
"I uh-....... Well, uh-" Wilbur stammered, deciding whether or not to tell the truth. He locked eyes with Quackity briefly before looking at Phil, taking a deep breath.
"...... I've been sneaking that man-" He pointed at Quackity. "-into my room for two years now. I met him during one of the balls where everyone in the kingdom was allowed to visit. I must have fallen asleep once I was taken to my room earlier today and had another one of those dreams. Let him go, he's no threat." Wilbur said, having decided to lie. He simply couldn't let Quackity get thrown into the dungeon, it would break Wilbur's heart. He gave Quackity a meaningful look that he made sure no one else caught. His brief glare had 'I'm trusting you. Don't mess this up' written all over it.

Phil’s wings flared up, only making him look all the more threatening.
“YOU’VE BEEN WHAT?!” he shouted, gesturing to Quackity.
“Do you see what he has in his hands?! It’s a crossbow, Wilbur! A weapon! He could have killed you if he so pleased! And the mask that he has on-?! That is a mask too identifiable, the man that skull belongs to was a threat to us for decades!”

Quackity flinched at the shouting, dropping the crossbow onto the ground. He stared down at his weapon, blinking away tears that had formed in his eyes. He knew it was all his fault, and honestly, knew there wasn’t a way out of it.

Phil looked over to the guards and Quackity, nodding firmly.
“Put him in the dungeons, an execution awaits him.”

"STOP. Dad, no. He could have killed me if he wanted, and yet he didn't. For two years, Dad! Two years he had the chance to kill me and yet he fucking DIDN'T. Shouldn't that count for something?! You can't kill him." Wilbur shouted, backing away from Phil and towards Quackity. First Quackity was threatening to kill Phil, and now Phil wanted to kill Quackity. Wilbur wasn't going to allow it. He didn't want anyone else in his life to die. "He's the only company I've had since Mom died, can't you see?! You've been too busy with the kingdom, and any free time you had you'd spend either alone or with TeChNoBLaDe. Tommy and I have both been left neglected. And I get it, Tommy's a rebel child who already has company with that little goat boy who he grew up alongside. But I'm alone, Dad! And killing Quackity will only leave me more alone." And here he fucking went again. Wilbur only became more angry, partially at himself for just making this all about him AGAIN.

Phil grabbed Wilbur by the arm, holding him back. He watched the guards leave with Quackity, his gaze cold and harsh.
“I’m only doing this for your safety. I’m not letting anyone hurt you,” he stated simply, letting out a short sigh. Was it wrong for not giving Quackity a chance to speak?- No. It wasn’t wrong at all. Phil was just protecting Wilbur. Yeah-.

Quackity watched the door shut as he was dragged away, simply just letting the tears fall. He stared at the ground, taking a small breath. It was sort of boring, just being dragged to the dungeons. But he didn’t really have a choice; he was gonna get caught sooner or later, so might as well get it done and over with. Though, it seemed too quiet, as much as he was already used to it-.

"YOU'D ONLY BE HURTING ME MORE BY KILLING HIM, PHIL." Wilbur shouted, pulling his arm away from Phil. He could barely hold back tears of anger and sorrow, watching Quackity get dragged away. Why did all of this have to happen?! And why did he care so much about about a man who had been stalking him for two years without his knowledge?! He was so sick of all of it. First he had lost his mother, and then he'd almost lost Phil, and now he was loosing Quackity. And there didn't seem to be anything he could do about it. Wilbur had no power here. It was the king's orders against his own. It was a loosing battle..... That's when Wilbur got an idea. A pretty twisted idea that went against everything he'd been taught, but an idea nonetheless. He pulled away from Phil harshly, running out and heading to his own room. If he could grab his sword and intercept Quackity and the guards before they got to the dungeon, then he could attack the guards and give Quackity a chance to escape. Maybe the two could run away together like the fairy tales Wilbur had once read over and over again when he was a kid..... Wilbur knew that it wouldn't end up working out like a fairy tale, but he could wish.
